Uber liberal Harvey Weinstein accused of sexual harassment

Oooooooooh the liberal elite hypocrisy rears its ugly head again.
Lisa Bloom who evidently lives in a glass house, daughter of Gloria Allred represents Weinstein. lmbo!!!!
I never heard of the guy till recently with all this. The more I know, the worse it gets. Evidently this guy has been doing this stuff all his life and has been in 'therapy' for 10 years...TEN YEEEEEARS!!! for rage syndrome. So, no cure there. All of Hollywood and political libs have known about this nut all along. They go to his parties and invite him to their parties. This would mean that surely Ashley Judd would know of his 'personality'...it's a small tight-knit community. They cover for him and say, welllllll he's just an old dinosauer and he's trying to do better and.....etc. :palm:

Lisa Bloom Usually Represents Women. Now She’s Advising Harvey Weinstein

Attorney Lisa Bloom has represented women accusing Bill Cosby, Bill O'Reilly and President Donald Trump of sexual misconduct.

But, this time she's advising the accused. Bloom is working with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct against him, which were reported by the New York Times on Thursday.

According to the Times report, Weinstein, the co-chairman of the Weinstein Company, reached eight settlements with women accusing him of sexual harassment. He faces allegations from others, including actor Ashley Judd, made over period of three decades. Bloom told the Times that many of the accusations are "patently false." In a statement to the Times, Weinstein said he'd take a leave of absence from his company. “I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it," he said. "Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go.” His lawyer Charles Harder told TIME in an email Thursday that he planned to sue the Times and that the story was "saturated with false and defamatory statements."

Some questioned Bloom's decision to represent Weinstein. Bloom did not immediately respond to TIME's request for comment. Here's what you need to know about the lawyer:

She has a connection to Harvey Weinstein

In March, the Weinstein Company won the rights to produce a six-part docuseries based on Bloom's book, Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It, according to Variety. "I trust them to do this right," Bloom tweeted at the time.

Bloom has expressed her admiration for Weinstein on other occasions. On Aug. 8, she tweeted: "Thank you Harvey Weinstein for recognizing the contributions of unsung female film directors," linking to an op-ed Weinstein wrote for Deadline about why Swept Away’s Lina Wertmuller should receive an honorary Oscar.

According to Thursday's Times report, for the past year Bloom has been working with Weinstein — whom she described as "an old dinosaur learning new ways" — to improve his understanding of gender dynamics in the workplace. She told the Times she explained to Weinstein that "the power difference between a major studio head like him and most others in the industry, whatever his motives, some of his words and behaviors can be perceived as inappropriate, even intimidating.”

I'm not going to come down on Bloom because every accused is entitled to a defense. And Judd had her interaction with him 20 years ago so who can say what everyone knew back then.

This was her thinking when he had her come to the room: “How do I get out of the room as fast as possible without alienating Harvey Weinstein?” Ms. Judd said she remembers thinking.

The bolded is key. Weinstein had the power to make or break young actresses. Judd was lucky her career wasn't killed because she turned down Weinstein.

Weinstein's statement:

I came of age in the 60’s and 70’s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then.
I have since learned it’s not an excuse, in the office or out of it. To anyone. I realized some time ago that I needed to be a better person
and my interactions with
the people I work with have changed. I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused
a lot o
f pain, and I sincerely apologize for it.

Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go. That is my commitment.
My journey now will be to learn about myself
and conquer my demons. Over the last
year I've asked Lisa Bloom to tutor me and she's put together a team of people. I've
brought on therapists and I plan to take a leave of absence from my company and to deal with this issue head on. I so respect all women
and regret what happened. I hope
that my actions will speak louder than words and that one day we will all be able to earn
their trust and sit down together with Lisa to learn more.

the man I thought I was and I better be that man for my children." The same is true for
me. I want a second chance in the community but I know I've got work to do to earn it. I have goals that are now priorities.
Trust me, this isn't an overnight process. I've been trying to do this for 10 years and this is a wake-up call. I cannot be more remorseful
about the people I hurt and I plan to do right by all of them.

I am going to need a place to channel that anger so I've decided that I'm going to give
the NRA my full attention. I hope Wayne LaPierre
will enjoy his retirement party. I'm
going to do it at the same place I had my Bar Mitzvah. I'm making a movie about our President,
perhaps we can make it a joint retirement party.

organizing a $5 million foundation to give scholarships to women directors at USC.
While this might seem coincidental, it has been in the works for a year. It will be named after my mom and I won't disappoint her.

your party voted in a man who is on tape talking about grabbing women without their consent.

but that is ok because hes a republican huh

Where did you get the idea that it was without their consent? He never said that, he also never said that he, himself ever grabbed a woman by her pussy.

I didn't know she was only 20 when this event happened. What the heck is she bringing it up all these years later? She needs to let go of the bitterness then just as many, many women have had to do and enjoy the years left in her own life. He had the power back then to hurt her. But, as others have had to do (I include myself ), she has to stop giving him that power over her entire lifespan.

And, it's good to know that now everybody can let go of all derisive comments about old guys with old misogynistic lifestyles carried into their later years.

EVEN A LIBERAL IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW

Harvey Weinstein gave his first interview following a New York Times report depicting years of sexual harassment claims against the movie mogul.

He also defended his reasoning for suing the paper.

“The reason I am suing is because of the Times’ inability to be honest with me, and their reckless reporting,” Weinstein said. “They told me lies. They made assumptions.”

Weinstein said that his team was notified about The New York Times report and they were promised that the publication would share names of people they had on the record so Weinstein’s team “could respond appropriately,” the report said. But the Times didn’t uphold the agreement.

“The Times editors were so fearful they were going to be scooped by New York Magazine and they would lose the story, that they went ahead and posted the story filled with reckless reporting, and without checking all they had with me and my team,” Weinstein told the Post.

What an odd comment from somebody who voted for President Pussy Grabber...

I have no idea who this Weinstein idiot is, but obviously he felt protected enough by male privilege to carry on with this crap for decades. Being white and male offers protections and safe harbors that no other skin color or gender does.

And you know who the biggest protectors of male privilege are?? That's right....the party you vote for.

After reading more of this story your remarks here are even more ironic cypress. You know who Weinstein is. Dude was one of the top players in Hollywood and because of his power and relationships within the press and the Democratic Party his actions were never exposed. You think the press would have held back for a major republican donor if they did what Weinstein did? You think the press would have protected the Koch brothers?

You try to make a political statement without knowing the players and you now see what your "team" really stands for.

Man, what is it w/ dudes when you give them some power?

If true, this is obviously despicable, and I applaud the courage of the women who have spoken up.

Some people use alcohol or drugs to get a high and others use power.

It's because he's rich and white.....he will bounce back from this, unlike Cosby.

He is from the privilege and protected class, just like president dump.

They never have to take responsibility for their actions. EVER!

I agree about him being a top player etc. but think the part about being a Dem is BS. Don't recall the press coming down on Arnie for all his predatory harassing behaviours over three decades.

Arnie was a womanizer but he was an actor. Weinstein had the ultimate power because he controlled who got jobs. Thus the casting couch is the ultimate act of power. Arnie was never near his level

LOL, yeah because he's telling you liberals he's going after the NRA and you soak it up.

He is from the era of the casting couch, many actresses worked their way up by that route.
