Less than one in five people think it's important or critical, and most of those are either on the radical Left as vocal advocates or on the Right as religious zealots. The other 80+% of America really doesn't give a shit about it as an issue.

Republicans don't give a shit either, but it's a good wedge issue to get the holy hypocrite crowd to vote !
 
Correct. It is throwing it to the state level politicians. So if you want to keep abortion legal, you can no longer vote for a Republican. It used to be that you could vote for a Republican, knowing the Supreme Court would keep abortion legal.

Republicans just lost suburban women, and that is huge.

Many republicans think abortion should be legal. I do. BTW - wimmin should not be allowed to vote anyway since they are socialists. They don't have the abilities of men and hate a meritocracy.

Wrong. Abortion is not an "inalienable right." It isn't even enumerated as one in the Constitution.
