U.S. Sends Home Brothers Held for Nearly 20 Years at Guantánamo Bay

What level of compensation are these maligned people getting ?

Not only should they never have been detained- the US should never be in Cuba.

They were terrorists. We should have just shot them on the battlefield in Afghanistan... Saved us a lot of trouble...

They were never charged with a crime.

Don't need to be. If they were actively engaged in conflict with the US in Afghanistan and captured on the battlefield, while not wearing a uniform, that makes them--under the laws of war and Genevia Convention, "spies and saboteurs" meaning they can be summarily court martialed on the spot and then shot dead for that.

So says you, an enemy of democracy.

No- CAUSED a lot of trouble. Firstly, it appears that they're innocent as they've never been charged.
Secondly, if they WERE terrorists and were extra-judicially executed then they would execute ours.
Thirdly, the US can torture prisoners, electrocute them, strip them and set dogs on them, roll them in their own shit, hang them upside-down and beat them- as has been documented at Abu Ghraib- but a policy of murdering prisoners per se would be the downfall of any administration.

Your contempt for life and the law should shame you.

If they were captured on a battlefield, no charge is needed. They are prisoners of war, and if they were combatants without a uniform, they can be summarily tried on the spot and shot--all legal. War is not equivalent to some police arrest on steroids. You don't get the rights a criminal does.

They were not.

You are correct on that. However, you and others are incorrect in that were accused / charged with aiding and abetting Al Qaida members with support and safe houses, etc. The Pakistani government originally arrested them as terrorists and turned them over to the US because of their ties to Al Qaida.

Pakistan got the US to get rid of them. How convenient.

Now I'm no expert- but it seems to me that you are quoting from some 19th century manual written by a sadist with a ramrod up his ass.
