U.S.: More teens smoke marijuana than cigarettes

Take your pick.
There are any number of studies that were done on substance usage/abuse and the deveolopment of teens.
Most of them cover social growth, personal development, affects on schooling, etc.
If you have access to something that is counter, please post it.

My personal experience tells me that you're correct, and that kids shouldn't be learning on dope.

Which isn't in conflict with anything I've said.

I wasn't trying to argue with you, I was just trying to point out that it's been shown that the lowering of the legal limit for alcohol, and probably some day for mj, is a terrible decision.

OK.

I'd agree with that.

My point is really focused on the states right to determine the age.

It's been shown that the younger a person begins to drink, the more likely they are to have substance abuse problems later in life.
Only in our society, with its draconian drinking age laws, and the resulting placement of drinking as an adult right of passage - with all that entails.

OTOH, in countries where drinking age is set by parents (ie: a youth, say 13 YO, cannot go in a bar and order a drink, but nothing is made of parents serving wine with dinner, or youths joining in a celebratory toast at a family gathering), they have few problems with people abusing mind altering substances (including alcoholism) later in life due to drinking at an early age.

I could be wrong; but I believe the standard of 21 over all the States was done to avoid legal problems from one State to another.
Yes, you are incorrect. A lot of pressure was put on the states by the federal government to up their drinking age to 21 (those that had not already). They used the same trick they used when they forced the old double-nickel on all highways - they tied federal highway maintenance dollars on meeting "federal guidelines" which includes a minimum drinking age of 21. Fucking economic blackmail, usurping state authority.

For your information, this isn't about casual useage within a family setting; but you go right ahead and continue, because it's no use to waste a good rant.

Was this some kind of "shadow government" or was it by the same officials that the people elected??
AND
Since this has been in affect, for sometime now, why isn't society putting pressure on the those that have been elected since then?

usfreedom hates freedom
all these studies referenced but not a single fact presented.
France has a drinking age of 16 I think.
What a fucking gaylord, drinking under 21 causes more substance abuse later. Bahhahaha

you can't ever quote a fucking study, what a tool.

Drinking age was forced down states throats by puritans pissed about drunk driving accidents. which are far more often middle aged drunkards like yourself.

If you weren't such a substance abuse, maybe you could finally move out of your mom's basement.
But then actually having to interact with others would probably cause you a great deal of stress.

I'm 50, in the top 5% financial wealth in the country. I've been getting baked since I was 15 with less side affects than you cousin marrying redecks with your booze. I easily got a 3.88 in grad school whilst parcticing Rastafari freequently.
Your lies are funny considering your lack of education, keep them coming please.:lies:

This seems to be going into 2 different subjects.

1. Since you acknowledge that our society is the one that determined that the drinking age needs to be 21, it's up to society to make the changes if that's what they want.

2. I'm not sure as to what you mean by "bribe money".

you're confused, this is why it is a pain to try and have discussions with you

At least everyone knows that you're just a loser, living in your mom's basement, you never graduated from college, and just barely made it through your special Ed school.
AND THAT'S A FACT.
