U.S. Loan to Brazilian Oil Company

then what is this mystery answer you have that will prove me wrong? you keep claiming it exists....keep acting like a wannabe professor/mommy/daddy and requesting i find it....

well big shot....like i said, if i'm wrong, i will admit.....you have this mystery knowledge that allegedy exists, yet you refuse to put it on the board because i won't find it....

you either have it or you don't....put up or shut up dungheap

I'll throw you a lifeline, Yurtsie. I mean, we all know that Obama had nothing to do with the loan so the only issue is whether the President ought to interfere with the operation of an independent agency to obstruct business opportunities for U.S. business and to thereby harm American workers.

Personally, I see no real reason for that sort of action even if the President could do it. Its seems pretty fucking stupid to me. But I don't think the President has that authority. You say he does. Here's a link to the Charter of the Export-Import Bank. Please point me to the provision that authorizes the President to recall a loan because he doesn't like it:

Have fun.

before i respond....i just want to laugh...my, my....no wonder you hid the ball

that is the issue nigel and i respect you for mentioning it. if that is interference....then surely you are going to complain about the moratorium off US shores.....oh wait...you won't....you will play mommy/daddy.....

apparently you have no issue with obama's executive moratorium in the US's economic zone.....but.....you also have no issue with obama sending money that will be used for offshore oil drilling off the shores in brazil....

obama is the executive...their independent status does not stop the president from presiding over their loans...

thats what i thought....you have nothing nigel....i expected better...

This was fucking stupid the first time around. And then the second time around. Long story short, the U.S. Export-Import bank is loaning money to Brazil so that Brazil can purchase U.S. manufactured equipment in its oil exploration activities.

Brazil's going to drill offshore regardless of what the U.S. does. What's the big deal with making sure the American economy and American workers benefit?

Jackasses.

LOL Can you show us your math? Seriously, I doubt you could put together the math to make your case. How much interest do we pay on the money that is getting loaned? And you need to cite your source on the "american equipment" assertion. I'm gonna need to see what you're talking about.

^yep^ no discussion...per onceler usual

whine, ad hom, whine, ad hom, attempt joke, whine, ad hom, try joke, ad hom, whine

Whines & ad homs? Where have I whined? Where is even one ad hom?

Please. Frankly, I'm amazed at you shamelessness. The OP has been thoroughly destroyed & discredited, yet you're still hanging in there defending it with real gusto.

It puts your standard "I vote GOP no matter what" variety of hack to shame. I'm impressed, Yurtsie...

Meanwhile, we're beyond feeling embarrassed for you and are now just laughing our asses off at you. Tomorrow is another day, Yurtsie. Try, try again.

the whole thread was based on a false premise, which is usually the case when anyone posts something from Glenn Beck or Fox News.

This loan was approved by the Bush people at the Ex-Im Bank, it's not a give away of tax dollars, and Brazil is required to purchase american goods and services with it. I know dudes at halliburtion and schlumberger who would be dying to get work on brazilian oil fields.

As for our oil production, maybe things have changed since I worked in the oil patch, but I seem to remember federal royalty relief for drilling off shore and tax incentives for developing tight gas reservoirs in the U.S.. Bottom line, I think the US is well within its rights to equitably and feasibly boost american production, as well as give a leg up to american companies to work brazilian oil fields. I guarantee you the Chinese aren't sitting on their hands; they're using their monetary and political power to get shit loads of work for chinese companies in latin america. Why give the opportunities away to china, uncontested?

Drill baby drill!!!

You total fucking global warmer hypocrite. LOL you're laughable.

Yurtsie - we know you won't do that unless Glenn Beck tells you to....
