So Gaetz was telling the truth all along about the FBI probe into extortion, official confirms

Seems the media's rush to judgment on the matter of Rep. Matt Gaetz, a popular conservative Florida Republican, who was smeared in the New York Times as someone in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl, might just leave them with egg all over their faces.

Again.

There's no doubt about it, the press came down hard on Gaetz, whose defense of himself on the Tucker Carlson show, following the Times hit piece, included describing an extortion plot, was broadly ridiculed as "improbable," "QAnon" and "bizarre," "bizarre," and "bizarre." Even some on the right called it "bizarre."

Sure, if he's making it up. Turns out he wasn't.

Don Gaetz was smart enough to get his lawyer involved from the beginning and his lawyer was smart enough to get written confirmation from the FBI what was happening. Without that they were going to take Matt down. When the FBI’s little scheme started to unravel they dropped a dime to the NYT to save their buddy.

Matt Gaetz’s dad says he wore a wire for FBI probe into DOJ extortion claims

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Rep. Matt Gaetz’s father, Don, a former Florida Senate president, said he is working with the FBI, including wearing a wire on more than one occasion as part of an investigation into an alleged extortion plot that the pair said was organized by former federal prosecutor David McGee.

“The FBI asked me to try and get that information for Matt and an indication we would transfer money to Mr. David McGee,” Don Gaetz said in an interview late Tuesday, without specifying what information he was referring to.

Hasn't that always been part of the story. It doesn't negate the other part - that Gaetz is being investigated himself for sex with a minor.

You forgot to mention that, that story is very doubtful.

Exactly! The investigation of Matt’s partner in crime led to the investigation of Matt which led to the possible extortion.

Where does it say anything about extortion in the email? All it does is confirm there's an investigation, not what the investigation's about.
