Do you not realize that controlling the air space over a sovereign country is the same thing as invasion and occupation....
Does this fact escape you ?
Does invasion with aircraft not constitute invasion/
Does continuous air patrol in another country not constitute occupation?

Does killing from the air and killing from a rifle make any difference to the dead ?

I would like to weigh in here.. I think we now see how Bush should have handled Iraq... this is supposed to be a lesson for us neocon cowboys on the right.. THIS is how it should be done! Wait and let Qadaffy kill off all his major threats, slaughter thousands of his own people, until even the Arab League is saying... hey, can we do something here? The FRENCH are saying.... TAKE HIM OUT NOW! ....So, as soon as Obama had his brackets filled out, he made a few calls and viola, Yes we can! Of course, we have to get some jets positioned, and take care of some logistics there... and the middle east is completely on fire from one end to the other.... but I'm sure it won't be a problem getting those jets in the air to monitor a no-fly zone by October or so...

I do find it amusing that some people (with obvious exceptions and due respect to our non-US members here) find UN resolutions more appealing than US law, but, to each their own...
 
I think this situation underscores that the UN is useless.....by the time they decided to take action to protect the rebels they are dead.....they should have just said "we don't give a fuck" on day one, rather than wait till the last minute and then pretend they give a fuck.....

Does America have the right to interfere in Libya's civil war? Their is no genocide or nuclear weapons involved in this conflict. Gaddafi was our ally in the war on terror. What has he done that warrants an invasion of his country?
