seems pretty easy then.......Biden can take the same steps Clinton did......sit down with the Speaker of the House and ask what its going to take to get a bill approved by the House...

Clinton and Obama were dealing with more reasonable Republicans, and even then there were government shutdowns. The current Speaker of the House does not even have the power to make an agreement with Biden. It is a sad state of affairs.

We were hoping that McConnell might step in with some reason, but reason is dead in the Republican Party.

That's what's wrong. In his hunger for self promotion McCarthy gave away the store. Question will be whether there is the handful of "moderate" Republicans to vote with Democrats to block the radicals. McConnell can't do a thing himself; he hasn't the seats.

We may well be about to have a huge disaster, and more surprisingly a disaster for no reason. What a disgrace it would be if Republicans destroyed America, because their mothers did not hug them, or whatever other stupid reason they have for being angry.

1) every time the debt ceiling has been raised it was raised by Democrats and Republicans.......so no, I cannot name a single time that either Democrats or Republicans failed to raise the debt ceiling.....

The Republicans have repeatedly failed to raise the debt ceiling in a timely fashion, and this time they may actually default. That has not been a problem when Democrats are in control.

Bush repeatedly had emergency spending budgets because he wanted to spend more than Congress had authorized. I mean like every year.
