I was in Moscow when it was part of the Soviet Union, the streets were spotless, and the marble statues in the subway were kept clean. The lines for food, however, were very long.
Interestingly, there were no homeless people camping on the streets, I wonder where they put them?
Literally 101 kilometers from anywhere. I am not even joking. The law required them to live 100+ kilometers from population centers. Today, especially with drug dealers, gang members, and prostitutes who are able to bribe police, they can live where ever they want.
