Tucker Carlson: representing the working man against the Elites

Where am I denying anything? Two contradictory statements were made. One stating Michigan union workers were always Democrats and one stating most were right-wing deplorables. Elements of each of those statements can be true. I'm not familiar with Detroit car unions so I don't claim to know the answer.

I didn't say either, but do think Michigan union workers have been Democrats for decades until the 2016 election.

Both Left and Right have their deplorables: deplorable being defined as an anti-American asshole seeking to deprive Americans of their inalienable rights.

You're conflating two different demographics. Biden did get BACK a good portion of non college educated white men in key states. Still not a majority across the nation. But many of the idiots who voted for trump in '16, never followed politics before. The union workers were always Democrats.

Nobody 'cut into' working class men but trump in '16.

Those whites without a college degree (not just males) who voted for Trump in 2016 included those who had and had not followed politics before. You can't separate those two groups based on past political experience except to say those who had not voted tended to be younger.

Trump's support from working class without college degrees was not really that much higher than Romney.

I don't think we can say, yet, whether Biden got back a "good portion" of those voters. Biden got his additional support largely from increased turnout among traditional Democrats and (according to TV news) suburban women.

Yeah, no kidding. I'm watching Tucker Carlson talk about how the Democrats are taking the place of the ruling Elite and that conservatives are the last defender of the working class.

Seriously.
days of the Goldwater Republicans are dead. The days of the Bush globalists are dead.
Trump delivered for the working class -you JUST SAW the blue collar vote go bigly for Trump

Dems are Swamp and ivory tower elites... and Big Tech

Da, comrade. That's Putin's plan. Too bad Russians are starting to chafe under his rule. Someday a Russian patriot will blow the back of his head off and free all Russians. Not a coward like you, of course. An actual Russian patriot.

Oh believe me the story of how it was Tucker who figured out what was going on when everyone was lying and a lot of people were selling America out for personal profit...and then he said "Fuck this , I need to say something in spite of what the evil forces will try to do to me" is fascinating.

Carlson thinks that American private property is too important to be controlled by its owners, that it should be redistributed to the elites.

Carlson really is not that entertaining, but I get your point.

Agreed. The fact he's backflipping and accepting Biden's being elected President is the entertaining part.

It proves Fox is conceding the election. If Fox concedes it, so will Trump.

A third POV is that they weren't Democrats. How many voters in 2016 voted for Trump simply because he wasn't Hillary? How many 2016 voters refused to vote simply because they wouldn't vote for Trump or Hillary?

The fact the 2020 election, as they have been for the past few, is very tight because most Americans do not agree with either party.

More people voted in this election than any other in history. I'd say the enthusiasm regarding this elections by Americans was exhibited to be pretty high. Most people in each side feel very strongly about the strengths of their party and the weaknesses of the other.

Agreed 100%. Aside from the fact the voting public grows larger every election, there is definitely a great enthusiasm about this election. Percentage-wise, maybe even greater than 2008. The division, the near split in the votes is greater now than in the past.

Seriously.

Only some of the GOP defends the working class. Only some of the Democrats defend the working class as well, although they only defend the non-white working class. The only exceptions are the gay, transgender, and/or non-binary white working class people. They tick enough boxes to be defended by the Democrats.

Its the Middle Class that the D's are really out to cream, the middle class always gets in the way of revolutions, they gotta go.

Pretty much. Small business owners are major targets as well, although to be honest, Republicans have screwed them oftentimes too.

Most of what made America a good place to do business is going away. That doesn't bode well for the future of our economy.

Yes, the unions have a decades-long history of being Democrats. The last time a Republican president made in-roads with them was Reagan.

Add in that we are deeply bankrupt.....ya, the future is going to really suck....look at what happened to Argentina if you dont yet understand the scale of the decline that is coming.

Almost no one has a clue, so many stupid people living in their fantasy worlds will do that.

Indeed. I'm thinking it's going to be like a combination of the corruption and financial instability of Brazil plus the racial tension of South Africa.

I look at it more like America will continue to dissolve until the New Chinese Empire takes control, and then after that we will be a shit-hole country of the Empire as a lesson to all the rest as to what happens when societies stop performing, decide to go to FantasyLand instead.

It is going to be bad.

There are a lot more factors in play than Trump being a lame, spoiled rapist.
Well...that was what was evident before the election. After the election, nobody seemed to care that he fired the ethics agency heads one by one as he was called out on his gross violations.

He lost no support.

Agree that these numbers are nuanced. The women he got, as with the white men were NOT a majority by any means. He just got enough of them in key states. It looks like his program late in the election worked well, given that he learned from Hillary's mistakes.

I'm fascinated that trump still got about 55% of suburban women.

That was always my understanding, Nordberg’s claim to the contrary
