We will find out, but I suspect that the bridges were mostly burned when execs gave the Tucker team orders on the Jan 6 tapes. Then something happened re todays show where an order was given and Tucker said "No, I am not doing that".

Carlson has done so much damage to America.
He's the classic demagogue, which has appeal during times of discontent & populism. But his schtick was so contrived, and so phony - just say outrageous stuff, and the ratings will follow.
It's encouraging to see this development. We need to return to a basic level of standards for media personalities who are in that kind of position.

They even brought me out for his podcast and let me discuss my reporting and censorship.
I’ll never forget meeting him. Despite being the number one host in the ENTIRE industry, he still greeted me like he was my biggest fan. It was a day I will never forget.
He is one of the most humble and genuine people in this industry and if it wasn’t for him and his team, a huge portion of my reporting would have gone unnoticed.

So, the real question here is, not why or how Carlson was let go, but rather, what will he do next? My bet is he will have something lined up PDQ and a big portion of his audience / viewers will move with him to that new something. There will be another platform that will benefit greatly from this, while FOX takes a big hit.
Tucker is big enough to be the next Joe Rogan, he does not need anyone else, but he is by his own admission lazy so he might go with something like DW.

A brilliant move might be for him to start his own internet channel similar to say conservative talk radio's Salem channel. He teams up with the likes of Rogan, Crowder, and possibly some the conservative radio talkers like say, Praeger and Hewitt, and they become their own network / news / political talk channel. The whole certainly already has the listener / viewer base to make that work.
Tucker could get sued personally also, like Alex Jones.
