Hamilton was born into abject poverty, and socially considered a bastard, on a French possession in the Caribbean. He grew-up on St. Croix and was fully orphaned by age 12. Of all the Founders, it's funny that he is called Establishment, while the aloof aristocrats, Jefferson and Madison, are viewed as men of the people. At least Jackson was also born poor...
