Former RNC chairman, Micheal Steele, is warning that Trump's takeover of the RNC will set the party up for defeat.

Trump warned his 'hostile takeover' of the RNC will blow up in his face
Setting aside for the moment his contempt for Donald Trump, former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele claimed the former president will come to regret his "hostile takeover" of the RNC because it will lead to his loss in the 2024 presidential election....

...Noting that Trump put in place daughter-in-law Lara Trump to lead the way as co-chairman, he wrote, "An army of Trump-installed loyalists are replacing senior staffers to run the Republican National Committee. With the general election just eight months away, don’t expect this to look anything like a typical operation focused on getting out the vote, reaching out to undecided voters, standardizing messaging across campaigns, and doing other normal tasks. Instead, this will be a group solely devoted to the glorification of Trump. "

And that, he suggested, will be their — and the party's — downfall because it will lead to "groupthink."

"Staffers [will] make bad strategic moves because they can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t think like they do. It will lead to self-censoring, as staffers who have ideas that might rub Trump the wrong way will keep their heads down. And it will set the party up for another string of defeats, all the way up the ballot to Trump himself," he predicted.

Citing what he called the "decapitation of the RNC," Steele explained the dismantling of much-needed voter outreach programs are already underway that will cripple the party in November, particularly when it comes to roping in so-called swing voters....

Just as Trump's purge of House Republicans in 2018 led to the Democrats retaking the House, Trump's replacement of top Republican Party leaders and staffers with Trump loyalists will lead to the failure of the Party.

Trump’s RNC Takeover Is on the Brink of Becoming a ‘Purge’
First came the internal grumbling about Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee.

Then came McDaniel’s decision to step down from her post at the end of February as she lost the support of Donald Trump.

After that came Trump’s move to put forward a slate of loyalists to take over the party’s top spots—including an election-denying state party chair, a Trump campaign senior adviser, and the former president’s own daughter-in-law.

The Truth About Trump’s RNC Shakeup—and Why the GOP Will Suffer

Next could come the purge.

“I think within 30 days you’ll see a purge of staffers from the RNC, because it’s a hotbed for anti-Trumpism,” Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist and host of the War Room podcast told The Daily Beast. “That’s the open secret.”

Skeptical holdouts within the RNC have gotten the message: Their days are numbered.

But it’s not just RNC staffers who are not safe—it’s also the party’s 168 committee members and consultants who have enjoyed friendly business relationships with the party, according to GOP sources familiar with the dynamic who spoke with The Daily Beast.

“I think there will be a whole new 168, and they’ve been working around the country to make it a full Trump 168,” a source close to the RNC told The Daily Beast. “Trump’s gonna make his own rules here, and he wants his own people in there.”

The new RNC leadership slate, which still needs to win the support of a majority of the 168 members, is about as MAGA as it gets.

Steele is spot on with his comments. I believe that the downfall of the Republican Party began about 30 years ago when members started labeling other members "RINOs". Sure, funny sound bite, but, as the Party seems to be witnessing, ultimately causing the party to both shrink and fall under the control of authoritarians.

Michael Steele calls McDaniel’s RNC departure speech ‘messed up as hell’
Former Republican National Committee (RNC) leader Michael Steele went after outgoing chair Ronna McDaniel in her departing speech, arguing it is “messed up as hell” for her to talk about “unity” in the party.

“The unity thing is a two-way street,” Steele said Saturday, a day after McDaniel officially stepped down as RNC chair. “And you don’t have unity when you refer to Republicans like me as a RINO (Republican in Name Only) who’s been in the party for over 50 years.”...

...Steele, the co-host of MSNBC’s “The Weekend” show, argued that unity had already been broken by party infighting.

“You don’t have unity when you disavow and, and break apart the very foundations of a once proud party based on the principles and ideas of Lincoln, and Eisenhower and Reagan and Bush,” he said Saturday, adding that when he was head of the committee, Republicans were winning elections.

“You don’t create, you know, this space for unity when you allow authoritarian, white nationalism, illiberal behavior to overwhelm and consume the very foundations of the party, so y’all need to check the unity conversation amongst yourselves first before you bring it to others,” Steele continued. “Because that’s where the disunity is.”

Another RED TSUNAMI?

Quite the opposite. Elections are won by turnout. If most Republicans stay home rather than vote for Trump, it will become a Blue Tsunami in both Congress and the WH next November.

But they will scream 'red tsunami' to the end, then they will scream that fraud caused Trump to lose.

They scream a lot because they are lame, spoiled Beta males who should have been spanked more and pampered less as children.

Purge of Republicans? It's hard to take this garbage seriously, unless of course you're an uneducated, low IQ dullard on steroids who watches MSNBC.

:rofl2:

Steele is an angry, misguided, delusional RINO with a severe case of TDS. Sad to watch him deteriorate like this. He had a future at one time. Now, he is relegated to hysterical nonsense on MSNBC.

“raw story” is right up there with the “gateways” and “breitfarts,” but Steele does have a point, Trump’s take over and purge of the GOP will result in less funding going to State and local candidates. As we all know, Trump intends on using the RNC as his personal piggy bank, which these days translates into paying his legal bills. No matter how you defend it, it ain’t good for the GOP party

Just as Trump's purge of House Republicans in 2018 led to the Democrats retaking the House, Trump's replacement of top Republican Party leaders and staffers with Trump loyalists will lead to the failure of the Party.

The party failed a long time ago because the fundamentals upon which the party is based are flawed to the core, which is why it was so easy for a fraud to take over the party.

I think the GOP is going to lose the House and not be able to retake the Senate because of Trump.

The polls are all wrong at this stage, just like they were all wrong in 2022, 2020, 2018, and 2016 at this point.

Poor triggered RINO Steele. Still getting almost everything wrong much like you. Yes, we know that the RINOs of yesterday's Republican party enjoyed losing a lot. Today's Republicans, not so much.

That was nothing compared to the massive losses suffered by Obama during Obamunism.
