Thus far, sentences have been fairly lenient for those who merely infiltrated the Capitol.

We haven't seen how the violent offenders' trials are decided.

I would have believed the shit about a "peaceful protest," even if they'd erected the hangman's noose and chanted about hanging Pence -- if they'd stayed outside where they were supposed to be. They didn't. They brought restraints and weapons, and intended to harm or kill elected people as well as those guarding them. They knew that the police wouldn't mow them down (although they should have). They made a martyr out of the idiotic bimbo who did manage to get shot. Isn't it interesting that we have heard nothing about any of the insurrectionists being injured, other than the guy who tazed himself, and a few self-induced heart attacks. It would appear that the majority of violence was committed by the terrorists.

Cops were beaten into submission. They were terrified and went through hell. The difference between beating them down and killing them is not that large. If you heard and were able to understand their testimony, they showed the hell they went through. Some have PTSD.
