Trump's own voters begin blaming him for affordability crisis

Americans continue to say affordability is out of control, and they place the responsibility on Trump, The POLITICO Poll found.

New polling shows many Americans have begun to blame President Donald Trump for the high costs they’re feeling across virtually every part of their lives — and it’s shifting politics.

Almost half — 46 percent — say the cost of living in the U.S. is the worst they can ever remember it being, a view held by 37 percent of 2024 Trump voters. Americans also say that the affordability crisis is Trump’s responsibility, with 46 percent saying it is his economy now and his administration is responsible for the costs they struggle with.

Those are among the new results from The POLITICO Poll that crystallize a growing warning sign for Republicans ahead of next year’s midterms: Some of the very groups that powered Trump’s victory last year are showing signs of breaking from that coalition, and it’s the high cost of living that’s driving them away.

The POLITICO Poll, conducted by Public First, found that despite Trump’s continued support among the Republican base, his softest supporters — the ones the GOP most needs to hold onto next year — are expressing concern.

'Yes, this is the new great hope for the libtards. They watched commie Mamdani say 'affordability' over and over and promise free goodies to the morons in New York City and now they think all they gotta do is repeat the magic word to the rest of the country. 'Affordability' I tell you, 'affordability'. 'We are the party of affordability' say the same dumbasses that created this entire mess in the first place.

Problem for them is all they have is a buzzword that works on the brain-dead drones on this site, but there are people left in this country with an actual functioning brain who might ask: if this 'affordability crisis' is so bad, why the hell didn't you fix it when you had the White House, the House, and the Senate and spent money like drunken sailors? Or how about not create the problem in the first place. It's not like it wasn't predicted.

So let's see if a single genius here can tell us one single real thing the Democrats will actually do about the affordability crisis they created. Just so you understand, I mean an actual policy idea. Come on, big brains, I'm waiting. This oughta be good.'

Your tariffs are a large driver of the affordability crises.

You are in the driver's seat now, your party controls all branches of government. Why are you failing miserably?

This will only worsen as we move closer to Christmas. People are buying less gifts since they are more worried about paying the bills and putting food on the table.

More and more people are finally realizing that Trump and his MAGAts are liars who are busily filling their own pockets by taking it from American taxpayers.

I maintain that MAGA morons are willing to endure some economic pain inflicted on them by Trump, as long as he can continue to troll the libs.

Your tariffs are a large driver of the affordability crises.

Time to crawl out of your echo chamber and face reality. Biden spiked inflation to 9%. Just focus on that alone. That crushed every working American's budget. Before you parrot another talking point, go learn how actual economies work, then come back when you aren't so clueless. Nine percent inflation doesn't 'nudge' prices. It detonates them: groceries, rent, fuel, everything.

Tariffs are just the new mindless buzzword for the hive to chant. Here's the exact script your handlers are pumping out: 'Affordability! Affordability! Republicans destroyed you with tariffs! Democrats will make everything cheap again by erasing every Trump tariff and shredding every trade deal he signed.' And the drones swallow it whole. Or maybe you know of an actual plan they have, lol.

So, name one. Which specific tariff turned housing into a billionaire's game? Which one made rent unaffordable for millions? Which one sent gas down to $1.99 in red states? Oh wait, that last one is a positive, so your side pretends it never happened, of course for years they've been openly cheering for $5, $6, $7 gas to 'save the planet.' Like California for example, brilliant governor there you all think will make a great President.

I could keep going, but you'd just dodge and screech 'tariffs bad' with some rigged stat that falls apart under five seconds of scrutiny. Keep screaming the mantra all the way to the midterms, I'm sure you'll be singing new songs for us too. The voters you're alienating will remember who actually made life unaffordable and who is turn your mess around by then.

Get out of your time machine. It's almost 2026 and Trump is president. In 2021 and 2022 the entire world had high inflation because of supply chain disruption.. When Biden left office inflation was under 3 percent.

Your tariffs and your trade war are making groceries painfully more expensive.
That's what you call evidence to back up your claim? I thought so.

So in your TDS-radicalized mind, printing trillions of dollars and hiring hundreds of thousands of government employees has nothing to do with inflation.

And also, genius: when inflation rises to 9% driving every single possible expense skyrocketing and then you manage to pull it back to 3%, those prices are still extremely high. You've done nothing.

Let's pretend that in 2021 you started getting quarterly raises that jumped one to two percentage points rising all the way to over 9% and then going back 3% 4 years later. So after the four years are you then making less income then you were when you got your 9% raise? No you're not, you're growing your 9% raise by 3% a year, still higher than what inflation should be. If that's how it worked you'd be a happy camper. Now think of that income as increased prices and expenses, and it might start to make sense.

Now the only way out is to grow our way out by growing the economy and people's incomes and bringing inflation back where it needed to be, where Trump left it at 1.9%. It's going to be there soon.

And our GDP has been consistently higher than the forecast at over 4% per quarter and that too will rise well beyond anything Biden or Obama could have ever dreamed of.

Maybe you need to jump into a time machine of your own and go back to school.

Your bloated Messiah admits that your tariffs and your trade war caused grocery prices to spike.

White House signals it will cut tariffs to help ease high food prices

I maintain that MAGA morons are willing to endure some economic pain inflicted on them by Trump, as long as he can continue to troll the libs.
Some are that stupid, but mainly I think they are so stupid they can't see the pain is coming from Trump. They are so stupid they believe the pain is coming from the Biden administration. Weird!

Are you aware that he has addressed those specific tariffs? So what's the next one? Is this the best you have? Those few specific tariffs are the cause of today's affordability crisis? Is this your best?

"TDS" is the MAGAT expression for blaming anything on the opposition.

It's also an admission that they all have Trump Devotion Syndrome:

Oh wow, groundbreaking stuff. Truly the Einstein-level take we’ve all been waiting for.

Here’s the brutal truth: you’ll never heal because you’re too dim to even admit you’re sick. You’re not just in denial, you’re married to it, honeymooning in Delusionville, population: you.

At this point the only cure is someone grabbing you by the shoulders and slapping the stupid out of you until something finally rattles loose in that empty skull. If that’s even possible. Good luck, sincerely.

So you admit Trump fucked up and had to retreat and backtrack.

Why would you trust a fuck up rather than the people who said from the beginning that your global trade war was both unnecessary and dangerous for consumers?
That's your response?? You really are a simpleton aren't you. I would seriously have a better discussion with a 12 year old unless he or she goes to a public school. I could continue explaining things point by point, but you have shown zero ability to catch on, so you'll have to wallow in your stupidity, bitterness, and ignorance as long as you enjoy living that way. I warn you, it's not a good long term plan, just look at someone like Rosie O'Donnell. Look at what all that ignorance, bitter hatred, and obsession with Trump has done to that woman and her poor kid. That's you in the future, lol. Just trying to help, as usual.
