Not a helpful style when people are trying to save a pilot. In fact, it probably almost got the pilot killed.
It reminds me of the Tongo Tongo Ambush, where American troops desperately needed trump to demand air support, but trump was playing golf, and did not want to get involved, so he let them die. trump did at least call up one of the dead servicemen's family, and say she should have expected him to die.
