Trump's disturbing obsession w/ Megyn Kelly

Has anyone been watching this over the past few days? One tweet after another, calling her "crazy" and her show "terrible" and "overrated."

I watch her show. She's actually incredibly fair to Trump - basically treats him like any other candidate, which is unusual considering how much he has gone after her. Other shows are much more ridiculing of him.

But he doesn't go after the hosts of those shows. I don't think there is any doubt at all that Trump has weird issues w/ women, but his obsession w/ Kelly is completely over-the-top. I read this stuff, and I still can't believe this guy is the GOP frontrunner. What a strange year.

Even Fox has called him out on it. It's creepy.

“Donald Trump’s vitriolic attacks against Megyn Kelly and his extreme, sick obsession with her is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate who wants to occupy the highest office in the land,” said Irena Briganti, a spokeswoman for the network. “Megyn is an exemplary journalist and one of the leading anchors in America — we’re extremely proud of her phenomenal work and continue to fully support her throughout every day of Trump’s endless barrage of crude and sexist verbal assaults. As the mother of three young children, with a successful law career and the second highest rated show in cable news, it’s especially deplorable for her to be repeatedly abused just for doing her job.”

Anyone Trump goes after gets the Trump treatment lol. Most of us have that figured out by now. I agree that Trump should back off on the personal attacks, unless it's Hillary lol, but I also think some of the condemnation of it is a tad hysterical. It's like the political world has turned into a debate board.

In the Fox instance, they're probably fishing for ratings. Notice that Kelly doesn't seem to mind the free publicity.

It's creepy. I don't think talking about it is unwarranted at all.

Trump supporters on his Twitter feed are calling Ms. Kelly a "crazy stalker" who Trump "scorned" and claim that Fox is way down in the ratings and has lost 50% of their conservative viewers...naturally, they have no evidence of this.

One even admits "No idea" when asked what their market share is, and then unironically states "I do know @foxnews among conservative viewers is down 50%". :palm:

Megan embarrassed Trump right out of the gate. He keeps personal grudges for a long time. Like a petulant child.

Much longer than a child. He still sends pictures of his hands to a guy who quit writing articles after 20 years. He wrote an article about his small fingers 2 decades ago, retired since and Trump still sends pictures of his hands... Seriously. This guy is unstable.

If you think he's unstable, you should see what his supporters say on his Twitter feed. :palm:

Do you have a link to this?

It's disappointing how Fox was originally anti-Trump, and now Megyn is the only one left who he still has a beef with. I suppose O'Reilly is still not on-board.

The myriad vulgarities of Donald Trump—examples of which are retailed daily on Web sites and front pages these days—are not news to those of us who have been living downwind of him for any period of time. I first encountered Trump more than 30 years ago. Back then he was a flashy go-getter from an outer borough eager to make his name in Manhattan real estate. Which he succeeded in doing in the only way he knew how: by putting his name in oversize type on anything he was associated with—buildings, yes, but also vodka, golf courses, starchy ties, and even a sham of a real-estate school. Most people who own private planes include their initials as part of the tail number. Not Trump. On his campaign jet, a Boeing 757, his name runs from the cockpit to the wings—in gold letters, 10 feet high.

Like so many bullies, Trump has skin of gossamer. He thinks nothing of saying the most hurtful thing about someone else, but when he hears a whisper that runs counter to his own vainglorious self-image, he coils like a caged ferret. Just to drive him a little bit crazy, I took to referring to him as a “short-fingered vulgarian” in the pages of Spy magazine. That was more than a quarter of a century ago. To this day, I receive the occasional envelope from Trump. There is always a photo of him—generally a tear sheet from a magazine. On all of them he has circled his hand in gold Sharpie in a valiant effort to highlight the length of his fingers. I almost feel sorry for the poor fellow because, to me, the fingers still look abnormally stubby. The most recent offering arrived earlier this year, before his decision to go after the Republican presidential nomination. Like the other packages, this one included a circled hand and the words, also written in gold Sharpie: “See, not so short!” I sent the picture back by return mail with a note attached, saying, “Actually, quite short.” Which I can only assume gave him fits.
