Trump's current situation reminds me of a scene from "Smokey and the Bandit".

Late in the movie, Burt Reynolds is approaching the fairgrounds in Georgia with his tractor-trailer load of bootleg Coors beer. With law enforcement closing in and a police helicopter hovering above, Sally Field solemnly looks at Burt and asks him if "he had counted on this - all of this". He looks over at her and simply says, "No honey, I didn't" or something to that effect.

Now, most of us fully realize that Trump did not expect to win, nor did he actually want to win. He had already started to lay the groundwork for his defeat with his rants of "It's a rigged system folks" and his plans to start a media empire with his followers firmly in tow.

What I find myself wondering is if Trump actually understood what would happen to somebody with his checkered past if the Republicans happened to lose control of both houses of congress and were no longer able to protect him? Based on his increasing "unhinged" behavior, it appears more likely than not that he didn't.

No, it has become quite evident the man understands very little about the government. He believed he could run it like his business.

Smokey got away with it. Just sayin

BTW are we back to the “Trump didn’t want to win” theme again?

It is really hard to keep up with you guys

So just to be clear. Trump went to all of the trouble to “collude” with Russia to win something he really didn’t want to win?

Only a liberal could concoct that kind of shit

Lol, I wouldn't trust those voices in your head, they lie. ;)
