I certainly don't see how anyone can still buy his populist "drain the swamp" BS.
You've been conned, Trumpsters. The top 1% & establishment are all having a good laugh.

If you think he's going to "dissolve" himself out of a job, you're nutz.
How would he dissolve it from the outside?
It's not like he couldn't get another job and you figure he could make way more money as a lobbyist than doing this
Maybe you don't remember when Perry was running for prez the last time, he said during a debate that he would scrap three cabinet-level departments if he were elected. And one of them was the Dept. of Energy.
"It's three agencies of the government that when I get there that are gone," Perry said. "Commerce, Education, and the uh, um, what's the third one there, let's see."
Perry suffered further after a November 2011 debate: in the debate, he stated that, as president, he would eliminate three government agencies, but he was then unable to name more than two of the three agencies.[SUP][138][/SUP] He later identified the agency he had been unable to think of as the Department of Energy.
In 2012 he wanted to dissolve the department. Now he wants to head it.
I think you're missing the forest for the trees here

And? How do you know that he is not accepting the position in order dismantle the boondoggle known as the Dept. of Energy? Who better for the position as "Hatchet Man"?![]()
Of course I remember. If you wanted to dissolve an agency how would you best go about doing so? Running it would be the best way. Perry not some career DOE bureaucrat who would have trouble finding a job outside his department. Dude could find work in many many different places. He's the exact type of person you would want heading an agency if the goal was to reduce its role
That's a nice spin if you want to overlook Perry's hypocrisy.
Next they will bitch because he grabs pussies and plays golf. Fixed
In this instance I think you're too focused on trying to point out hypocrisy that you're missing the big picture which is what I just explained. It's why liberals have used the phrase "the fox guarding the hen house" for some of these appointments. If the goal is to reduce the power of an agency you appoint someone who wants to reduce its power to run it.
If Perry runs the agency and works to increase the power of the DOE then he'd be a hypocrite. Taking the position isn't being a hypocrite
