Trump was very diplomatic, without giving any ground. Super positive comments out numbering negative ones in social media feeds.

Trump was smart to not pursue paying for the wall in this meeting.

Seriously, if a $5.00 fee were levied on all money orders and wires of cash going back to Mexico from the US, the wall gets paid for.

yup. great event. Honestly if you were on the outside looking in you would think Trump is the US president now not obama.

The mainstream media is working the Mexican president's comments angle pretty hard. But it's all they got.

The Mexican president thinks he has a say in it, apparently lol.

Trump got his "presidential" on today. What was said isn't anywhere nearly as important as the setting .

I wonder how many people outside the media bubble aren't offended by Trump so much as they can't conceive of him [reality TV star/billionaire] being president.

If there's a large number of them, look for Trump's numbers to go up.

I think it's got to get to the point people look at him like this shot.. He's done a really good job of curtailing his off the cuff remarks.
If it takes a teleprompter -so be it. Polls are looking better. Clinton has been fundraising/in hiding..

But it's still an uphill battle - those couple of weeks post convention hurt him..
Still he's on a good trajectory. This is a MUCH better campaign!

It's frustrating because he's waited so long to make the turn. We'll see if it was in time or not. Or whether he can keep it up.

This isn't a conventional election and the electorate isn't acting in a conventional manner. We'll see.
 
He looks real presidential there reading his PC~prepared speech..

He should of just been himself & insulted the good ppl of Mexico........

I wonder what the anti-PC folks think of the new soft trumpf??

this was a well crafted speech -long on specifics, and prioritizing deportations to criminal illegals.
It was well referenced to show the pratical path he would use..This was a YUGE day for Trump..

Keep it up and he could actually pull it off..the electorals are still against him -but this is a much better candidate
then the insulting clown he was
 
i love that the narrative is that people now expect trump to negotiate on behalf of the US before he even becomes president.

He's always been capable of it.

I think it was back in the Spring when Trump went to speak in front of AIPAC---a potentially hostile environment. And he not only got out of it without tripping over himself but it was actually a really good speech that got accolades from some of the liberal Jews in the audience.

And I think it was the first time he used the TelePrompTer.

His many partisan or ideological critics will never admit it, but there's an upside with Trump that is totally non-existent with Hillary. It's one of the reasons I've stuck with him [that and The Disaster in Waiting on the otherside] through his many gaffes and missteps.
