For instance, the other day he did his stand-up act, alone, reading from notes. He stated (reading from notes) that "this is going to get worse before it gets better." Yet a brief time later, when answering questions, he claimed that the virus "would be gone soon."

His gait when walking any distance is indicative of dementia-impaired gross motor skills. He's on a fairly hefty dose of Crestor, so it is quite possible that medication is negatively affecting his cognition as well. It's a known side-effect.
