Trump Will Resign In 2019: Former Bush Adviser

Stuff like this gives me hope for the universe, do you think it holds any water? Alan J. Steinberg—who served as an adviser to former President George W. Bush—wrote in an opinion piece published this week that he didn't believe President Donald Trump would be removed from office through impeachment.

Steinberg, a former Environmental Protection Agency regional administrator, said that he believed Trump would resign in 2019 in exchange for immunity.

"Trump will not be removed from office by the constitutional impeachment and removal process," Steinberg wrote in The Star-Ledger. "Instead, the self-professed supreme dealmaker will use his presidency as a bargaining chip with federal and state authorities in 2019, agreeing to leave office in exchange for the relevant authorities not pursuing criminal charges against him, his children or the Trump Organization."

Steinberg noted in the piece that should the House of Representatives impeach Trump, 20 Republican senators would have to break with the president to remove him from office—and that seems very unlikely. Steinberg wrote that the many legal challenges facing Trump—the investigation from special counsel Robert Mueller, the probe from the Southern District of New York as well as inquiries from the attorney general of New York and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office—could lead him to leave the White House, especially as authorities close in on his family. https://start.att.net/news/read/art...9_former_bush_adviser-rnewsweek/category/news

That's pretty much what I've been thinking. Especially with regards to his family. With the entire clan in the crosshairs, he would probably be willing to swallow his over-inflated ego and bear the embarrassment of being seen by the entire world as a massive failure.

I just hope and pray that it happens sooner rather than later.

Trump likes the appearance of a fight. He does not like a battle that is not on his terms. He is a big chicken and will flee if it looks too dangerous. Good chance he winds up in a jumpsuit that matches his skin color.

Possibly. He does have the characteristics of a bully and they tend to back down when challenged. But I do believe he likes the fight .

lol. trump is orange.

I will put this prediction along side all of the other predictions leftists have been making about Trump since he strolled on down the escalator

The new A G for the state of NY says trump will be charged with obstruction of justice, and implied that foreign governments channeled money to trump’s family’s real estate holdings, which she characterized as a “pattern and practice of money laundering.” He will go to prison for a very long time no matter how many senators don't like it.

Sure that seems unlikely now, but things change. The US Senate has already voted unanimously against President Trump on the Kashoggi assassination. That shows that when they believe in something strongly enough they will oppose President Trump. All that has to happen is for irrefutable, and I mean absolutely irrefutable evidence to come out that Trump has violated his oath of office, and they will vote against him.

No way. He relishes the fight.
He relishes the fight when he's in control. Usually, because he has no intention of abiding by the terms of 'the fight'.

His family is going to be facing myriad legal problems. He might just do the smart thing, but I doubt it.

As you said... he relishes the fight, even though he's too stupid to understand that the's already lost.

What he loves best is losing, and claiming victory. He's been doing it for most of his life.

They voted against him when there was absolutely no consequence.
