The Democrats want it written into these resolutions that this funding will continue, not end as signed into law with the BBB. The Republicans want a continuing resolution that changes nothing and just keeps spending going a couple of months more until they can get a budget passed.

So, the origin of the current problem is largely in Obamacare being passed on a totally fraudulent set of lies about how it would be funded. Instead of lowering medical insurance costs it raised them substantially. Toss in expanded Medicaid, a partial attempt to socialize medical insurance, and you have the perfect storm coming home to the Democrat party.

Remember, when Democrats passed Obamacare, it was mandatory. Well, THAT got thrown out by the courts.

Even when it was mandatory this problem existed. You either went on expanded Medicaid, if it was available in your state, or you got a crap plan from the marketplace. Either way, the expanded Medicaid side was simply an expansion of socialized health insurance paid for on a declining basis by the feds.

The Democrats, no doubt, expected that down the road, future congresses would simply pass legislation to continue the mass subsidies and eventually they'd become permanent. That's what happened with many previous social-welfare programs. This time, it didn't and the subterfuge (aka lies) the Democrats used to try and sell Obamacare as revenue neutral and a great idea, ran into the train wreck of reality.

Now the Democrats are scrambling to save their asses as the Medicaid side of Obamacare collapses into ruin because the states that wholeheartedly adopted it can't pay for it themselves--like the original legislation called for.

Obamacare was a predictable trainwreck from the jump, and every right-winger who actually understood the bill called it, because it wasn't hard to see coming if you understand human nature at all.

I remember all those brain-dead drones drooling over what they thought was going to be “free healthcare” for them, and I bet plenty of the morons here bought it hook, line, and sinker.

Surprise, not only was it not free, but you got strong-armed into buying a garbage plan that many didn’t need or want, if not you were slapped with a $2,000 fine at tax time for saying no. Funny, but not funny.

I had a lefty buddy who lost his mind when the IRS bill hit, whining about the big lie. He didn't 'buy in' but still had to pay two grand.

Obama swore it was for “the people,” but it was a fat gift to the big three insurance giants, instantly handing them tens of millions of new customers, raking in record profits, and crushing the small players who couldn’t compete. T

he big three literally doubled their market share virtually overnight. Now, the left wants us to eat their lies and beg for more.

It radically decreased choice of what you health insurance covered and often mandated coverage of stuff you didn't need.
It raised the cost of individual health insurance policies sky high
Health insurers couldn't provide the funds to subsidize the plan so the government was forced to step in and spend tens of billions doing that.
Expanded Medicaid was where something like 90% of previously uninsured persons got added coverage (eg., socialized health insurance).
The expanded Medicaid program was massively expensive such that only the feds could cover the costs.
Your plan often left you with fewer providers and options (Remember the whopper of a lie Obama told? "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor...")

On the money again. I remember the health plan we belonged to in our small family business literally doubled the very next year after the bill passed. Yes, doubled. We ended up choosing a plan with a $5000 deductible and pooling money each week into a fund to cover the deductible for anyone in the family that needed care. It was only possible because we were relatively healthy and rarely needed medical attention at the time.

I have employer coverage (Tri-care / FEHB--eg., government employee / military health insurance plan) and it's basically the same one that covers Congress. Thus, it's reasonably priced, and pretty good. Amazing what happens when those that get to vote on and pay for their health insurance have the same plan as you do... :rolleyes:

When it was mandatory, the problem was compounded.

Fortunately, the worst effects of this socialism were avoided. Obamacare is dying of it's own weight now.
