As someone who has been in and out of poverty, and has actually paid it forward and helped people get out of poverty, I know that mandatory work training and back to work programs can turn someone's life around. Help people with NO skills acquire the minimum wage skills. Conservatives talk about teaching a man to fish, but then sabotage their fishing rod, then kick them in the water.

How are we sabotaging the fishing pole? Give me an example of kicking them WHILE they're in the water.

Chronically disadvantaged people need training. That's why I advocate programs -- that cost virtually nothing -- to help people GET jobs. Studies have shown that this is the most effective way to get people off assistance. But trying to confront a Trump supporter facts is like giving a football to a monkey.

Giving "jobs" to illiterate blacks doesn't do any good. By necessity, the jobs are just make-work and have no value. The only answer to poverty is for poor people to NOT have kids. In america we do the opposite - our welfare system pays poor people to have kids.
