Trump wants to impose work requirement for food stamp users

Without a social safety net, crime exponentially increases. You become less safe and you pay more to the government to keep the chronically poor in cages. Canada is experimenting with eliminating welfare in certain areas, but they're replacing it with a minimum income for all citizens of certain towns (like 20k a year).
But you just said.... Oh, never mind. lol

I find it amusing that conservatives foster the conditions that lead to poverty, and instead of helping people out of poverty, they punch down, punish and demonize the people requiring assistance, and refuse to help them get out of poverty. I suggest that people be helped to advance their lives and thus boost the economy and reduce the economic burden of assistance, and I am accused of being a bad person.

Trump supporter logic.

Most people want out of poverty but they need opportunities more than hand outs.

Jobs. MAGA.

Break that down for me, will you? How are we doing that?

How do we get people OUT of poverty comrade? God knows your democrat party hasn't done shit, so maybe you can educate them as well as us!

But how do we help advance their lives? Please. Impart some of your wisdom.

Chronically disadvantaged people need training. That's why I advocate programs -- that cost virtually nothing -- to help people GET jobs. Studies have shown that this is the most effective way to get people off assistance. But trying to confront a Trump supporter facts is like giving a football to a monkey.

Sounds like a fantastic program. Why would we oppose that?

Tough sentences for drug offenses, bank rolling cities (e.g. Ferguson) off minorities, removing economic resources for urban areas, limit access to abortion, promoting a lack of education for sexual education, eliminating useful social programs that target the poor. Got a question on any of this?

How do we get people OUT of poverty comrade?

As someone who has been in and out of poverty, and has actually paid it forward and helped people get out of poverty, I know that mandatory work training and back to work programs can turn someone's life around. Help people with NO skills acquire the minimum wage skills. Conservatives talk about teaching a man to fish, but then sabotage their fishing rod, then kick them in the water.

The poor "take."

The rest of us "earn."

Meanwhile Trump has 'taken' at least a billion in bank loans (after blowing through his inheritance), lost that billion, mocked the banks for being stupid enough to give him loans, and until recently earned his fortune by being perpetually in debt to foreign banks.

Or as Trump supporters call it: A good resume for being president.

ok lets make something clear, being paid something for DOING something, is not slavery.

If they don't like our (the taxpayers) demands to work for OUR money, then they can fuck right off and figure somehow else to survive.

If it's My money, it's my say on what you have to do to get it.

I don't want my money used to finance drones and landmines used in sovereign nations we are not at war with.
Sadly my opinion is meaningless to the government and so is yours.
