Trump Wants America's Kids to Eat More Salt?!!

I just wanted to say, you have a valid point. When the court used the same reasoning to say tomatoes are LEGALLY a vegetable they made a similar point about how we use them and our perception of them. BUT, when a bureaucrat then made the non sequitur leap from that to the notion that tomato paste on a pizza satisfies the requirement for a serving of vegetables he abandoned that sound reasoning about how we use a fresh tomato for pure sophistry and wormy lawyer logic.

Why do Republicans defend this administrative activism while they decry so called "judicial activism?" At least there is some opportunity to appeal and test a court's ruling with new cases. The bureaucrats say is final, until a new regime is voted in.

Funny as hell.....only a leftist with their nose about a foot up their neighbor's ass would call "deregulation" Activism. Priceless:palm:

School lunches....along with everything concerning the education of this nation's children should be a subject best regulated by the "parents" (PTA) and the local school boards. Why in the hell does Washington assume to know what's best for everyone...all across the nation and then attempt to apply some leftist "cookie cutter" POLITICAL CORRECTNESS health pie chart that is basically a "hog lot diet" to everyone...and then wonder why there is an "obesity" epidemic among our children?

HOG LOT DIET? A diet that robs the human body of one the most essential items required to maintain good health......PROTEIN. We are not raising little piglets for the purpose of leading them to slaughter. Ketchup (tomato based condiment) is best served not on a piece of card board paste passing as a bread product...its best served on a side of beef or pork....when reduced to its intended form...as a base for sauce (local in nature depending upon the LOCAL TASTE and familiar tradition).

It was not a case of "deregulation." "Regulation" can mean a lot of things but typically means administrative law.

The National School Lunch Act was statutory law, a law passed by congress or in colloquial speak, simply, A LAW. The USDA interpreted that law in a way that clearly perverted the intentions of congress.

Insert snark about bird law here...

That's besides the point and a different argument. If you'd like to repeal the National School Lunch Act, do so.

Huh? It's always hard to imagine you are anything but a leftist troll using sarcasm to mock the right.

Whether you are using it on meat or not, tomato paste does not satisfy the need for vegetable/fruits. Of course, you need protein too and gravy made from meat stock would not be a good substitute.

I volunteered in schools cafeterias at that time. Know who threw the food out? The kids with money. The poor kids scarfed it.

They were great meals, but the spoiled little shits would toss it and wait to get home to their Twinkies.
If you were volunteering, why weren't you making sure that the rich, Twinkie eaters weren't throwing the food away? A good school has a program in place to avoid all that waste.
What were your duties there? And can you give me an example of two of the "great meals". If you can recall. Thanks!

Not sure what your point is here, but...

The same is true for those complaining that their kids won't eat the healthier foods. Why should we make it easier for those making bad choices and harder for those that wish to make good ones?

Because you don't want to give anybody a choice. You want to mandate your choices onto others.

You're arguing just to argue you just look stupid

Nope, not any more than you are.

They are not going to be able to offer a multitude of choices. That's not on the table and would cost much more than any option that is.

I'm not defending anything, my only part in this discussion was pointing out that ketchup is made from tomatoes, lol.

Why didn’t I stop the kids from tossing their trays?

Congrats on the stupidest fucking post of the month.

gosh, at least you are consistent......that's same argument you use FOR the legalization of drugs, right?........right?.......

Actually, it is. Prohibition leads to an increase in bad choices, like bathtub gin over safely made beer. That's not really relevant here and of course you have taken this out of context to make your ignorant and myopic comment.

I would NOT argue that we should subsidize drugs as we do school lunches. Whether we should subsidize school lunches is a different argument, but if we must they should be healthy lunches not unhealthy ones. If you don't want to push your kids to make good choices then pack them a lunch full of crap.

No I said Pack your kids own lunch. That isn't me making your choice. It is you choosing to be responsible for your own life and kids and stop trying to dictate what other people do.

Right, and i said the same can be said to those who complain their kids wont eat the healthy stuff (i have not really heard parents complain about that, but...). That isnt me making your choice. It is you failing to be irresponsible for your own life and kids. Is it not you trying to dictate what other people do?

It seems, that arguing that the meal offered should remain unhealthy is dicating what others do, at least, as much as arguing that it should be healthy. You have failed to show any difference in,degree or kind, between healthy or unhealthy as an act of dictating. Your position, that it be unhealthy, just has an added bonus of being stupid or intentionally cruel.
