Trump wants 20% tax on imports from Mexico to pay for wall

IF you are going to float a 20% tax on imports from Mexico as a "negotiation tactic", as some claim Trump was doing? Make sure Republicans in Congress don't immediately undercut you in the press.

Its terrible negotiation tactic to propose something that is immediately clear you cant do!
 
Its another bad negotiation tactic to give the other side the option of two choice, both of which would destroy the other side, and neither of which would result in you getting paid.
 
The worst negotiation tactic is to threaten to pay it yourself if they refuse.

Hey Mexico, if you wont pay for the wall, we will tax American consumers and make us pay for it. Take that!
 
How else are you going to make American workers, wage competitive with Mexican workers?
