Always suspicious when one wants to privatize an existing Gov't entity, especially when life and death are a consideration
why? do you really think the government gives a rats ass about our lives?

How is that likely to make a difference? Will there be a choice of ATC companies at an airport? Maybe you would consider privatising the military as well, so you can choose the cheapest option,!
Trump isn't really talking about privatization here. He wants to shift the funding burden from the taxpayer to the users...in this case the airports and airlines. It's just an accounting trick to get this off of the federal books.
Good point!blackwater? nuff said.
I just don't see what the benefits are, it seems to me that is being driven by money.

and it seems to be a good idea. millions of people never fly, yet their taxes are a portion of the ATC budget that they shouldn't have to pay.
this could actually be an easy fix......
the airport owners are already responsible for regulating the airlines that pay for the fields usage, they can also become responsible for hiring their own Air Traffic Controllers and still keep them adhered to the current FAA regs in the ATC 7110.65 manual. That way, controller salaries and benefits are covered by the airport owners, who can then pass on that liability to the airlines, passing it on to passenger costs.
