Trump to pick some Cabinet and VP before Cleveland?

I think this is a brilliant idea for Trump.

If Trump is going to get a good team around him, putting together a team that includes some establishment Republicans he will do a lot to bring the party together and counter the idea that he has not experience, because he will have a solid team already around him.

What do you think, good idea?

This is why Trump has a shot at winning, he thinks outside the box and comes up with good ideas that are not status quo.

I'm still not voting for him, but I think this is a smart idea.

I agree that it's a good idea but ultimately he's made it clear that it's his opinion and his opinion alone that he will truly listen to and so to me it doesn't matter who he picks since its still him making the choices. I will not vote for him even if he somehow convinced Ted Cruz to be his VP or in his cabinet.

The fact that he will be the decider is exactly why I wont vote for him, his ego gets in the way and affects his judgement. He is a lose cannon, and I don't think he is a good roll model for my kids. I don't want them to see a bully use bullying to get to be President of the United States.

The Canadian is Trump's friend. He likes him.

As for the timing of any announcements about a proposed Trump Cabinet, Gingrich said making some picks early would be an “exciting” decision, adding that former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Christie would be “fabulous” picks.

The New York Daily News, quoting an anonymous source, reported that Trump already has arranged to name Giuliani as secretary of Homeland Security. But a Giuliani spokesman denied that they had any meeting to discuss the post.
not a good idea..

Its a good idea to name a Cabinet early IF its a good Cabinet. Giuliani is a silly man!

HRC will publish commercials calling out Giuliani directly.
I still don't think so,,a VP maybe..But I think TRump needs to work on Trump..let the surrogates go on the attack,'but he needs major
rehabilitation of his public persona - do that.
And yes Guilliani is a whack job.

I still think you are a fucking idiot and after all these years on political boards this is the best analysis you can come up with ?

<sigh>

All this vetting always begins well before the convention just because of the volume of effort needed.
Don't feel strongly one way or the other.

You think Cabinet position vetting generally begins before the Conventions?

With the caviat that the convention is strictly ceremonial as it generally is, yes he has to gather prospects and feel them out well before any notifications go out.
Those guys will need time to get the skill players they need on board.

I vaguely remember Reagan naming members of his cabinet before he was elected........not sure if it was before the convention.....

A shame to hear you're petty enough to cut off your nose to spite you face.....you think helping elect Hillary is a better choice?
