President Trump will continue to enforce President Obama's 2014 executive order protecting LGBTQ people from discrimination while working as federal contractors, the White House announced Tuesday.

"President Donald J. Trump is determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community. President Trump continues to be respectful and supportive of LGBTQ rights, just as he was throughout the election," the White House announced in a statement.

"The President is proud to have been the first ever GOP nominee to mention the LGBTQ community in his nomination acceptance speech, pledging then to protect the community from violence and oppression," it said.

The order was the first time the federal government issued explicit protections for federal workers based on their gender identity.

Federal Laws Prohibiting Job Discrimination
•Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin;
•the Equal Pay Act of 1963 (EPA), which protects men and women who perform substantially equal work in the same establishment from sex-based wage discrimination;
•the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), which protects individuals who are 40 years of age or older;
•Title I and Title V of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended (ADA), which prohibit employment discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities in the private sector, and in state and local governments;
•Sections 501 and 505 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities who work in the federal government;
•Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA), which prohibits employment discrimination based on genetic information about an applicant, employee, or former employee; and
•the Civil Rights Act of 1991, which, among other things, provides monetary damages in cases of intentional employment discrimination.

Trump's personal views on queer marriage (pretend marriage) are irrelevant as are mine. Trump believes the issue should have belonged to the states as I believe.

This is a misconception from the 0 marriage Utopian dreamer, Neo communist globalists like you. Queer/ pretend marriage was implemented by the supreme court and was another example of an over-powerful court legislating law on the different states and completely bypassing congress and the state legislators.

And Trump's position like mine is THE reason why millions of evangelicals voted for Trump along with the rest of the citizenry who are fed up with courts containing un elected judges creating laws based on their opinions and not congress where the lawmakers reside.

if he believed the issue belonged to the states then enforcing an executive order that concerns lgbt federal employees certainly seems to run against your theory.
