Trump thumped! Cruz celebrates with a kiss after stunning Iowa victory t

On the GOP side, the three candidates to emerge were the three candidates expected to emerged. The shake up was that Cruz stole Trumps thunder.

But on the democrats side of things- Hillary lost. I know she basically tied as far as numbers go, but that's the loss- Hillary tied with a 70 year old Socialist from Vermont.
the Dems should pay attention. She is a stale, declining candidate who will get the women's/feminists but not the Progressive.
The black vote is still with her - black women are her strongest base, but that can change too.

I don't see Cruz going anywhere from here, but he does have money and a national campaign

I must admit that I thought Trump had it in the bag! I guess this is the American version of trompe-l'œil. Trump-l'œil if you will, the art of turning a 2D cardboard cut-out into a seemingly three dimensional person.

  • Ted Cruz emerged victorious in the Republican Iowa Caucus
  • Celebrating in an emotional embrace with wife Heidi, Cruz hailed the religious vote in a celebratory speech
  • Meanwhile a dejected Trump clan joined The Donald on stage as he said he was 'honored' by the result and vowed to fight on in New Hampshire
  • The Trump campaign will now also be looking to Marco Rubio whose surprise Iowa surge nearly left The Donald in third place
  • Democrat Martin O'Malley and Republican Mike Huckabee announced they were ending their campaigns
  • On the Democratic side, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton and current Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders were running neck-and-neck with no result declared
  • Hillary Clinton had less than a half-percentage-point lead on Bernie Sanders when she thanked Iowans for the win, but Sanders wasn't ready to throw in the towel

Sealed with a kiss: Heidi Cruz congratulates her husband on stage at the end of his lengthy victory speech, which quoted the Psalms

Most people were expecting either a Cruz or Trump win. Cruz is even worse than Trump, IMO. Trump is just an opportunist. Cruz actually believes the crazy things he says.

Rubio in a strong third place was also a surprise.

While I agree with this, I think he has organization but no mass appeal, for the most part, outside of Iowa.

I think Trump will now implode and the big question is where will his supporters go?

Ah, the seemingly requisite Trump implosion prophecy lol.

Desh is saying ugly peoole can't win and then proclaiming Hillary will win? Did I miss some massive plastic surgery or something?

besides being an evil failsauce guy Cruz if Fuggly.

he just cant get elected

Because Hillary and Bernie are so fucking attractive?

Can't wait to hear your spin. Let me help you out

"People love their Santa Claus policies so much their looks don't matter". Sound about right Deshtard?

Hillary has had plastic surgery. You can see it in her mouth. It is unmistakable to the trained eye. Unfortunately they aren't miracle workers. She doesn't have much to work with to begin with.

Dean lost Iowa. Kerry won, and Edwards took second place. His defeat was much like Trump's, where he came in as the proclaimed leader with mass internet organization and a full head of steam. Then he behaved like a jackass the entire time he was in Iowa, and drove enough people away that he tanked it.

Dean was trounced in Iowa, he came in third with 18% of the vote, vs. 32% for Edwards and 38% for Kerry. Trump's loss was a lot more narrow, he came in second three points behind the leader. And most were calling this a toss up between Trump and Cruz anyway (this is probably one of the states most friendly to Cruz).

Let me guess lol, Bernie isn't too radical for nationwide appeal.

Sadly he is, that is why I have always said I believe HRC will get the Democratic nomination. If HRC is indicted, I doubt it, but if, we might have a brokered convention and Biden would be the nominee. I think that is very unlikely, but more likely than Sanders winning the nomination.

there is no reason to indict Clinton

Yeah, the convention is going to give it to a guy nobody voted for. I'm sure that guy will have a huge mandate.

I don't know, but they likely will. They are not going to give it to Sanders, that's for sure.

Its not in question

she did nothing wrong

You don't know that nothing will come out. I'm simply saying that there is a confidential investigation and you don't know. I agree it is unlikely, and to speculate is silly, but it appears they got nothing. If they had something solid they would have acted. They don't sit on their asses when they have something.

It is unlikely she will be indicted, but people aren't stupid either. All but the most partisan of partisans know HRC, at the very best, played loose with the facts. She's damaged goods, politically. Everyone knows it.

Politically I wanted to see Trump win because he is the least conservative...

Personally I really enjoyed watching Trump, who hates losers, lose.... I enjoyed his short and buthurt speech.

The biggest loser was Clinton.....no longer expecting a coronation...tired with a self proclaimed Socialist.....my, how the mighty have fallen....

That smug, arrogant, lying bitch needed to be taken down a notch but Sanders probably won't get the nomination of that totally corrupt party......

The Founding Fathers weep in their graves watching their creation die...
