Great piece by Jonathan Turley.

The final paragraph is good debate fodder:

“A party requires more than an all-consuming hatred for an individual. A party has to stand for something that transcends the immediate or the visceral. Yet, in the age of Trump, the public is not interested in nuance or niceties. The watchword is “resist” and that means resist at all costs — even to core values. In other words, the question is not what the Democratic Party will do but what it will be, after Donald Trump eventually leaves office.“ [Turley]

What will the Democrat party ‘be’, post-Trump? Will people forget that, Because, Trump, democrats embraced Bill Kristol and the neocons?

"Will people forget that, Because, Trump, democrats embraced Bill Kristol and the neocons?"

What?

The neocons were lead by the dual citizen signatories of the PNAC.

Those writers at the Hill are usually stupid.

The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) was a neoconservative think tank based in Washington, D.C. that focused on United States foreign policy.

It was established as a non-profit educational organization in 1997, and founded by William Kristol and Robert Kagan.

"Will people forget that, Because, Trump, democrats embraced Bill Kristol and the neocons?"

What?

The neocons were lead by the dual citizen signatories of the PNAC.

And democrats fell right in line behind them. You agree with Kristol about pulling out of Syria and Afghanistan, right?

Richard Perle

“American political advisor and lobbyist who worked for the Reagan administration as an assistant Secretary of Defense and worked on the Defense Policy Board Advisory Committee from 1987 to 2004. He was Chairman of the Board from 2001 to 2003 under the Bush Administration.”

“He is a member of several conservative think-tanks, such as Project for the New American Century (PNAC), the Hudson Institute, and (as a resident fellow) the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research. He is also a Patron of the Henry Jackson Society. “

“Perle has written extensively on a number of issues; his cited research interests including defense, national security, and the Middle East. Perle had long been an advocate of regime change in Iraq. He also linked Saddam to Osama Bin Laden just a few days after 9/11”

“Perle chaired a study group that included Douglas Feith and David Wurmser that produced a strategy paper for the incoming Likud Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm””

“In a New York Times article Perle was criticized for recommending that the Army purchase an armaments system from an Israeli company that a year earlier had paid him $50,000 in consulting fees.”

Bill Kristol

“He is the son of Irving Kristol, one of the founders of the neoconservative movement”

“Kristol was a strong advocate of the Iraq war”

“Most recently he has been a vocal supporter of the Israeli attack on Lebanon, stating that the war is “our war too,” referring to the United States. He continues to back the Iraq war, and favors a war with Iran”

“Kristol caused controversy by praising President George W. Bush’s second inaugural address without disclosing his role as a consultant to the writing of the speech.”

Here's a list of prominent Neocons (and many dual citizens) who advocated for the invasion of Iraq..

Neocons anyone?

June 1997

The Project for a New American Century (PNAC) was born. Populated by influential Movers of industry and Shakers of public opinion, the PNAC is an organization united in the vision for a global U.S. empire - "Pax Americana" - through coercion and military domination. Their philosophy can be simply summarized:

There are countries to plunder and fortunes to be made. You have it, we want it. Do as we say or suffer the consequences.
The U.S. already has a powerful military but we plan to nurture and grow it until it's massive and we are indomitable. Resistance is futile. We are.......
Dick Cheney, Jeb Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Steve Forbes, William J. Bennett, Frank Gaffney, and I. Lewis ("Scooter") Libby, signatories - among others - of the PNAC's "Statement of Principles":

"We need to...challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values."

"We need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out
our global responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future."

"It is important to shape circumstances before crises emerge."

I see trump as part of a progression. Every time we make progress towards equality there is a backwards reaction and this time its trumpsters. In the end trump will be gone, many of his supporters will come to jesus and discard his crap.Theklan/white nationalist types will always be there but will shrink in numbers.

How does it feel to be a useful idiot for the neocons lol?

All Because, Trump.

What does, "all because Trump" mean?

Trump supported the invasion of Iraq when he said so on the Howard Stern Show.. I resigned the Republican party in late 2002 because of it.

The Dems now claim to be the party of Wall St. greedy CEOs and Forever wars. It should be interesting.

Trump campaigned on getting out of ‘stupid wars’. He promised to pull out of Syria and Afghanistan and he’s doing exactly that. Anyone who acts ‘surprised’ at Trump either wasn’t listening to him in the campaign or they are feigning ignorance about it.

So, what happened with you? When did you start advocating for perpetual war like the neocons?

What Trump said during his campaign was that he was going to defeat ISIS and take Syrian oil.

Do you know the difference between Iraq and Syria? We invaded Iraq without cause for the purpose of regime change and destroyed the Dual Containment Policy.

We did not invade Syria.. We responded to the carnage of a civil war which created over six million Syria refugees thrust upon the international community.

We will RESIST the corrupt, the racists, the misogynists and the xenophobes. Period. Now and until TRUMP is kicked out or voted out. And then if there is more to RESIST after the POSCUM is out, the 'infrastructure' is in place.
