But the cases numbers decoupled from hospitalizations starting about a year ago. The refrain ‘just wait three weeks for the hospitals to fill up’ became a running joke.

Besides, now we know that mitigation measures were largely pointless, anyway. IOW, the policy responses to the *faulty* data did more harm than good. The whole thing was grossly mishandled and it had way more to do with the medical bureaucracy than the Orange Man.

I love the logic of these knuckledragging morons. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that the virus escaped from the Wuhan lab. So imagine if a gas canister was accidently detonated outside the window of my building. But I REFUSE to close the window, and as a result everyone in the building dies. But I'm your hero for pointing out that someone else was responsible for the release of the gas. Yes, this is how fucking stupid they are. It's sublime.

Every report of combat or such instances is "I reacted to training". The whole point of training is to make it so natural it's unconscious. People just react.

Carrier jet pilots have a maxim "Know when to go then go." It means every moment, especially on a catapult shot, they must be ready to eject. They set the criteria for ejection in their minds before even getting in the aircraft. If something happens, it could happen very fast and they must react by instinct, not "thinking it through". Hence, the importance training. See Navy film below.

The militias train all the time. Train and play their fantasy games but they do it with live ammo and explosives. Another factor is Maslow's hammer, "if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail". Between the training and their own delusions, they'll want to use their hammers.

Hitting Trump is nearly impossible. Blowing up his businesses is easier. Going after those who coordinated with the militias from the WH will most certainly be in the minds of militia members as they watch their buddies be sentenced to a Supermax for life.

An apt analogy. Yes, the Chinese would be guilty of not being 100% forthcoming, but Trump fucked up for months by denying there was a problem.

Yep, and those are two different issues. There is a principle in law called mitigation of damages. If someone breaks your window, they're responsible for replacing the window. If you fail to replace the window and you end up with massive water damage in a storm a few weeks later, that's on YOU.

Trump failed miserably in his mitigation efforts. In fact, one could say that he actually did the opposite, he made it worse. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how the virus got here, it was the responsibility of the Trump administration to mitigate the impact on Americans. This new information is strong evidence that Trump INTENTIONALLY ignored his responsibilities because he thought it would damage him politically.

Agreed. If the Chinese were responsible for releasing COVID, accidental or not, they should be held accountable.

Every nation should be held accountable for how they handled the pandemic. Trump fucked up the US COVID response for months by denying it and lying about it's severity.

How many months did JPP Trumpers scream "It's no worse than the Flu!"?
