Imagine...…"MONEY" the grease that moves the gears of the world. Mr. Trump did what a US CONGRESS was refusing to do....help secure our southern border by making the government of Mexico confront the countless never ending stream of illegal immigrants. Looks like little CHUCKY has TRUMP shit stains on his face again. ;) What better way for a free market capitalist nation to deal with problems, USE CAPITAL to get the job done where communist politics fail. :bigthink:

Did you really just use "Capitalism" when referring to tariffs?
The amount of contradictions on the Right are staggering.

The context was used as a NEGATIVE TERM. What? No education on how to read an entire paragraph and how words are directed and explained via their surrounding contextual uses? If Mexico want's unfettered access to US FREE TRADE CAPLITALISM.....they must respect our laws that govern such use or face the government regulation of CAPITALISM. As I said, power can be obtained via the use and application of a dollar bill.....OR THE LACK THEREOF. ;) The US has not been a truly free market capitalist state since the government first regulated the use of seat belts on cars...etc., Or constructed a regulatory office such as the FDA. Taking away the individual freedom of the one's that actually purchase and decide our to use products. The most egregious such act would be the attack on a perfectly legal tobacco industry and how left wing snowflakes target certain special interest groups and support others.....in a most fascist manner. Why make it illegal to advertise tobacco, and then turn around and make it acceptable to advertise for controlled prescription drugs...etc., Its all about the DOLLAR BILL. ;) Mr. Trump, as demonstrated is an expert on Capitalism and how to use it to benefit THE PEOPLE.

In a free market capitalistic state.....it was once considered "unethical" for a lawyer to advertise.....the same for a drug corporation or a PHYSICIAN.....while it was legal for the individual to make his/her own decisions on what to purchase and what not to purchase and how to use these products on a personal level that harms no one expect the purchaser. If something is indeed harmful, make it ILLEGAL......don't run it into the shadows and continue to claim its legal simply because its one of the biggest CASH COWS (in the form of taxes) that the Feds have.

Well, Pebble by Pebble, America has a Capitalistic economic system. Our great president, President Trump, just used the threat of tariffs to force Mexico to stop the invasion of illegals.

What have the Democrats done...open borders, sanctuary cities...?

Oh, there's just so much wrong here.
First of all, Mexico isn't violating our laws. It's legal for them to allow someone to leave their own country. If illegal immigrants are coming to America from Mexico, then the Mexican government is not breaking our laws.

Secondly, I was pointing out the irony of people saying things like US FREE TRADE CAPLITALISM when we don't have that. Tariffs are an example of that.

"America has a Capitalistic economic system" but then he says "just used the threat of tariffs"

Wrong? It accomplished what a left wing congress refused to do......help secure our southern border. And you are full of shit.....MEXICO has far stronger immigration laws than does the US, yet they are turning their head with a wink and a nod in allowing 10s of thousands of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS safe passage across their border and even providing transportation to our southern border. So as Mr. Trump said to Mexico. ENFORCE YOUR LAWS or face our ECONOMIC WRATH. A done deal. ;) It worked where your guild failed to lift a finger in defense of our own citizens......SOLUTION: THE DOLLAR BILL (in God we trust). :bigthink:

The problem was an idiot president wanting tariffs.
Illegal immigration hes been going down for years. It's not the problem Trump has made it out to be.

If he wanted tariffs, why are we no longer going to see the 5% tariff go into effect on Monday? Furthermore, I don't know what rock you have been hiding under, but, have you seen the numbers on illegal crossings and detentions for this year and last?

Imagine that... tariffs work.

It appears that just the threat to impose tariffs might have worked.

However, I doubt the corrupt and incompetent Mexicans will be able to halt the illegal immigrant invasion, although the US may benefit from trade reform.

Dems did not cause this Trump fit. This is all Trump, all the time. Dems are against tariff spanking. It is now how friendly nations act.

Are nations whose "friendship" is contingent upon being allowed to take advantage of America really "friendly?"

Its the corruption that can be counted on to make it work.
They have no desire to kill the cash cow of trade.

The cartels have many of Mexico's government officials and public servants in their pockets. The illicit billions earned through smuggling drugs, arms, women, and children will determine which "cash cow" is more valuable to corrupt and incompetent Mexicans, IMO.

hmmmm, anyone seen Trump's deal with Mexico on paper? lol too funny!

Looks like the Mexicans have seen something.

Mexican officials sought to portray victory Saturday after a deal with the Trump administration to potentially curb migration and avert U.S. tariffs, but others questioned whether the bargain may end up as an open-ended burden.

The contrasting views — after a late Friday announcement of the agreement by President Trump — highlighted the uncertainties in Mexico about the provisions of the pact and whether the White House could use similar tariff threats in the future to try to exact more concessions.

The agreement calls for the Mexican government to widely dispatch its national guard forces to help with immigration enforcement on its border with Guatemala, according to a joint statement.

It also expands the so-called “Remain in Mexico” program, returning asylum seekers across the border to await their hearings in U.S. immigration court — a process that can take months.

Have you informed the Mexican government that they don't need to honor the deal they think they just made?
