You have me confused with some other kid. What I have said is Republicans cannot win national elections going forward with only the white vote and that is true. Thus it is incumbent upon the party to bring its conservative small gov't message to minority groups. However now that the party no longer believes in that message I guess it's kind of pointless.

Ford just announced that their moving their small vehicle plants to Mexico. Explain to me how Trump taxing the shit out of their exports isn't free market. And Ford just experienced a record profit year.

Ford can export to other countries, cant they? Isn't that the free market? Is Trump going to stop them from exporting to other countries?

So what do you intend to do about it? People like myself have gone a long way to bring Democrats back towards the center from the bad ole days when the Democrats were dominated by social welfare state liberals and advocating a strong military, internationalism and trade. Do you see your self staying within a Republican party that has rejected you and your values or building a new coalition within the Democrats that advocate your small government, pro-trade agenda?

So median income is now what it was in 2000. There are issues with the way they determine median incomes, but it tends to be a tad more accurate than mean income.

But reality shows that this means absolutely nothing to the average household. Cities are still markedly different than suburbs w/respect to income

That view is a tad short-sighted.

Once [if?] republicans break the color barrier there's no going back to the pre-Trump electoral status quo, where Democrats own the minority vote. The party could shift back towards small government republicanism and bring minorities along with them.

Besides, the major part of Trumps support is from people are fed up with the faux conservatives that infest the ranks of the establishment. Trump is their change agent and stick of dynamite.

That's why the racism bit is crap. If you you had only one word with which to describe the ascendancy of Trump, it would be rebellion.
