Trump defends foreign worker visas, siding with Musk amid MAGA backlash​


President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday defended the visa program that allows highly skilled foreign workers to immigrate to the US, marking his first comments on an issue that has divided his supporters this week.

Trump said in an interview with The New York Post that he’s “a believer in H-1B,” referring to the visas granted to thousands of foreign workers who immigrate to the US to fill specialized jobs. In his first term, Trump restricted access to foreign worker visas, and he has previously criticized the program. But during the 2024 campaign, Trump signaled openness to giving some foreign-born workers legal status if they graduated from a US university.

“I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them,” Trump told The New York Post on Saturday.

“I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program,” he added.

Nope, first of all Trump said he wanted to stop immigration from shit hole countries, and get more immigrants from Norway. MAGA morons have never cheered :cheer: for more immigrants from India, Philippines, China.

Secondly, Trump is not in charge. He is deferring to South African immigrant Musk and Indian immigrant Vivek.

I'm against American companies bringing in Indians and Filipinos to depress American wages and undermine the influence of American labor.

I have never believed in "open borders" and don't know a Democrat who does.

You voted for people who want to expand or lift the cap on H1b visas: Trump, Musk, Ramaswamy.

You voted for people who said American culture was mediocre and sung the praises of Indian engineers.

I also know a lot of Dems that do not believe in " open " borders ,
IMO a lot of this would have been stopped if McConnell would have sat down and talked to the Dems back in 2017 about the Anchor babies.
They were going to put something like 26 /28 Billion in the Budget for Trumps wall .
A wall may not stop all illegals but it may have slowed them down.
