I got used to the flavor when I did a "no sugar" bet with my stepfather when I was in my teens. Skinny kid drinking diet drinks... when I tried to switch back to sugar drinks they tasted funny so I just kept the habit. Now I'm old and large... and I drink diet Mt Dew... (usually Mt. Dew Zero Sugar)...
 
Funny how they say we're grasping straw while they were the same ones who were triggered by reports about Biden.

For example, Biden using the button for ice cream.

I don't remember anyone caring about that, other than to say, "Remember the leftists going ballistic about Trump's Diet Coke button? It's used for ice cream now!"

I do think that the left should talk more about how Trump drinks Diet Coke. It makes them look smart and totally gains them votes.
