Trump showed the GOP how to game the system

This was going to hit critical mass after awhile, anyway. Republicans could win electoral counts - but they almost never win the popular vote, and the gap has generally been trending in the wrong direction for that party.

It would be hard for them to win elections anymore the "normal" way. Trump turned SCOTUS into a radical right-wing body, ready to do the GOP's bidding. He's getting "Big Lie" believers elected at every level of government, in most states. Hundreds of voter suppression efforts have either been passed or are being considered.

And SCOTUS is now right there to uphold any challenge to those, as well as all of the gerrymandering that goes on.

Democrats will have to overperform to win elections in the years ahead. We're becoming a country of minority rule - and we're allowing it all to happen, as well.

so retarded. as the rules exist today, the GOP does not spend time in that hell hole called California

If a competition for the popular vote ever came into play - strategy would change. California would be in play - not to win - but to make sure you get every vote possible.

this is idiotic democratic fairy tales - to win a popular vote - you have to compete - no competition means it was never won

This not gaming the system, this IS the system.
Same one we have had for all the years of our constitutional republic.
The left was well aware of this for 200 years but now you seem to have forgotten.

Or perhaps you recognize you cannot compete within the context of the system and are unhappy...
