We need to make sure Trump does not win in November, can you imagine pardoning all that insurrectionist trash?!! If this does happen, it time to take away the power to pardon from the president too?!!

WASHINGTON - Former President Donald Trump said his first-day agenda as president will include pardoning people convicted of crimes related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, reviving his defense of the post-election insurrection that was part of his GOP primary campaign.

The GOP nominee-in-waiting now says that plans to "free" Jan. 6 prisoners as part of a first-day agenda that includes sealing the border and increasing oil and gas production.

"My first acts as your next President will be to Close the Border, DRILL, BABY, DRILL, and Free the January 6 Hostages being wrongfully imprisoned!" Trump said Monday on his Truth Social website.

Opponents of Trump said he is kowtowing to lawbreakers, in this case people who threatened violence in an effort to overturn their candidates' loss to President Joe Biden.

“Donald Trump has shown he’ll do whatever it takes to hold on to power – including excusing and encouraging political violence," Sarafina Chitika, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign.

More than 1,300 people have been charged with various offenses related to the insurrection of Jan. 6, 2021; about 500 people have been sentenced to prison terms.

Trump has always ignored the laws that he finds inconvenient. Trump used the pardoning power as no other president had in the past. He pardoned people to protect himself and save people in his plot. So now he wants to pardon insurrectionists and violent criminals. This is what the Repub party is in on. Do not look for respect when you back this crap. You guys are anti-justice and anti-law and are fighting for a dictatorship.
 
If he does a blanket pardon - it would really be scary.

I could understand looking at some cases where they felt like the penalties were excessive or something. But to just say "they're all innocent" would really be telling.

It wouldn't feel much like America anymore.

I live on the southern border and talk to border control quite often. They're pissed off because US policy is to bring them in. The US is even flying them in for cheap labor, military service, and to vote. The homeless who served in the military are watching 100s of thousands of illegals being moved into hotels and apartments with money and cloths while they're stuck on the cold streets.

I thought you dems cared about justice.
 
The only rioters were the hundreds of plainclothes feds pelosi sent in and they aren't in prison. The j6ers in prison did nothing and should be released.
