Trump ‘rules’

How can it be anything but clips put together in combination with images lol?

Kind of a political meme but more sophisticated. Should FB put their little ‘lacks context’ flag on it?

Like I told someone else: I’m not low-information. I don’t need to be spoon fed about events I’ve been following.

Everything in the video happened. There is nothing dishonest or out-of-context about the way it's presented. And it had footage that has NOT been widely shown elsewhere - Senators on both sides commented that they were shocked by some of the additional footage.

If they hadn't seen it, I'd guess you haven't either. There have been many on the right who have said they didn't watch it, and won't. I'm really not sure what they're afraid of. Everything on that tape happened.

Just like it happened that Trump said to “March peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol”.

That really happened. I promise.

So, that one comment negates all of the incendiary and volatile rhetoric from not just that day, but from the months prior?

I have no problem if you don't want to see evidence in a trial. But seeing the evidence should be a pre-requisite for making comments or definitive conclusions about that trial.

This whole charade is self negating.

For one, why would Trump want to incite a riot that was going to blow up what he hoped to accomplish in the House. The idea was to present evidence of fraud to try and delay the vote till evidence of fraud was examined. Doesn’t make any sense.

And politically, why would Trump or anyone else expect a ‘good political outcome’ from storming the Capitol? Politically, that all shook down about how you’d expect. Lucky it wasn’t worse. Was the plan to ‘take over the government’ with a rag tag army of rabble rousers led by a literal shaman? Actual coup plotters across the globe have to be laughing their asses off at that idea.

Seriously, what was the plan and what possible benefit was Trump going to derive from it?

Trump is an agent of chaos, and he clearly didn't understand the Constitution. He thought Pence could send the certifications back to the states. Pence explained to him that he couldn't, but clearly by his tweets that day, Trump still didn't understand that.

His only goal was disrupting the process. He felt that if he could disrupt & prevent final certification, he could buy time - and he genuinely thought that if he could get it back to the states, he could strong-arm local politicians to overturn the results.

This is all fairly well documented on twitter.

And it's also widely reported that he was fairly delighted and excited when watching the riots on TV. I'm sure you'll ridicule that as "fake news," but that's absolutely Trump's m.o. Aides said he seemed confused why others at the WH weren't excited about what was going on.
