The party actually got a big spanking in 2006 and 2008. It's that spanking that allowed Obamacare to come into existence as we didn't have to the votes to even stop it.

Yes. High pressure politics. The only candidates we saw in 2016 willing to play that game were Walker and Cruz- neither made the cut.

Again, 4 years of Hillary as president will be far more destructive than 4 years of Trump. You think bombastic commentary is embarrassing. OK. I know that 4 years to stack the Court, a Court that will have 2 to 3 seats open, is much more important than a little embarrassment. The liberals on the Court have already shown a willingness to interpret modernistic ally around liberal policy- wait until they have a majority. Environmental and gun policy will just be the start.

Obama was never going to overturn his signature achievement. That is just a wishful fantasy. I used to listen to Mark Levin yell at republicans in congress for not getting it done. He was just lying to his listeners.

If the goal in this primary was to stick it to the establishment then consider it accomplished. But expecting to stick it to the establishment and then win a national election are two different things which is why we see Trump getting crushed by a horrible candidate. As a result we'll lose the court and as of right now a chance of a Repubkican winning a future presidential election isn't all that great either.

If you are so damn concerned about Trump winning why do say nothing to ILA? He lives in a swing state where his vote actually counts. Are you afraid of him?

My party, right or wrong... Sadly that is the swell most Americans were brought up on... Having to many choices like those real democracies is just to complicated..

That's a stick of rhetorical dynamite thrown right in the middle of the democrat party's tent. Hey #NeverTrumpers, take notes. That is how you take down the democrats, not by playing nice with them or by running scared from the minority vote.

Yesterday this writer mused that Trump needs to take this exact message into the middle of Detroit or Philly. Turns out Newt Gingrich thinks the same thing. I'll wager a debate is going on in the Trump campaign over it.

And I'll wager Trump is all for it lol.

The 95% of the black vote is an obvious exaggeration---no one will ever hit it again. But it has an intent: the media will go out of their way to keep such dangerous rhetoric off the airwaves but the exaggeration forces them to talk about Trump---and what he said to the Michigan audience.

A mostly white audience. It will be interesting to see if Trump takes the next step.

There is NO justification for the exaggerated hype and lies that constantly fall out of Trump's mouth. He's just throwing red meat to his sycophantic supporters. And you damned well (or at least you should) that this latest trust fund kid bigotry will just sink him further in the national polls.

Hillary has outspent Trump by a huge margin and she spent the weekend milking the high rollers in Martha's Vineyard for even more money. Trump has hurt himself; a large swathe of the media has given up even the pretense of journalistic objectivity in covering Trump; and even the Bush Bill Kristol wing of the party is trying to sink him.

And Hillary is struggling to stay in the high single digits against him.
