trump offers Flynn national security adviser job

Flynn has been a vocal critic of the Obama and Bush administrations since leaving his job overseeing the Defense Intelligence Agency last year. Flynn told the German news outlet Der Spiegel on Sunday that removing Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Moammar Gadhafi in Libya destabilized the region.
"It was huge error. As brutal as Saddam Hussein was, it was a mistake to just eliminate him. The same is true for Moammar Gadhafi and for Libya, which is now a failed state. The historic lesson is that it was a strategic failure to go into Iraq. History will not be and should not be kind with that decision," Flynn said.

President Barack Obama's former top military intelligence official said Tuesday that the White House ignored reports prefacing the rise of ISIS in 2011 and 2012 because they did not fit its re-election "narrative."

^ bingo.right on both counts.

ISIS barely existed in 2011 and 2012.

as a result of the coup attempt.
I never said he was a "good guy" -the US supported him during the coup attempt.

I'd rather have seen him overthrown, but the POINT is he has the 2nd largest military in NATO

Erdogan puts journalists in prison? Maybe one of our liberal friends can explain to the class why Erdogan is any better than Putin.

[Flynn] has come under scrutiny for some of his business ties, his views toward Russia, and — like Trump — his Twitter account, where he often promoted conspiracy theories throughout Trump's campaign.Among them: a fake news story about Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine's alleged connection to the Palestinian terror organization Hamas, a fake story about Hillary Clinton's "sex crimes," and a false meme about prominent journalists supposedly colluding with Clinton.

Each and every appointment Trump makes will be treated the same way.....terrible pick, a racist, a sexist, a bigot, not the right temperament, too short, too tall, too rich, too poor, etc, etc. etc.....

Actually I think giving Romney a job is a good idea.

When it comes to politics, I'm always of the opinion that there is someone who can do it better/the same should someone's character come into play. This isn't sports, art, medicine, etc., where things are generally decided by meritocracy, and where there is potentially a limited supply of talent. There's no reason why Romney and Douchebag Donald should be reaching out to one another. There's plenty of other people who could be SoS, while Romney should be focused on his reputation as a decent man of principle and character.

just as I predicted......another 4 years of watching the right do things that the left did, watching the finger pointing and responses of 'but they did it too'.

our country can't die fast enough, i say.

Right.
That's why he would be OK as Sec./State.
How would you like Ghouliani instead?
Romney is a win.

Because Romney drew his line in the sand, and failed to convince the Trumptards that conservatism is always preferable to populism, and that decency is preferable to Douchebag Donald. It seems desperate for a NeverTrumper to be colluding with the enemy.

theres still a nevertrump? Cruz actually helped trump campaign, Romney already grovelled before Trump, and Glenn Beck is now trying to court democrats because his audience went over to breitbart. Who do you have left? Even national review and to a lesser degree red state is now putting forth pro trump articles.

victory covers a multitude of sins.

NR always had pro-Trump authors like VDH. Not sure about Red State, but NR's policy is basically the Obama campaign slogan: "Give Hope A Chance." Lyin' Ted was a candidate, so it put him in a position where it was acceptable for him to campaign for Douchebag Donald. Romney was not a candidate, and his speech outlining the character defects of Douchebag Donald is something he should be standing-by, because it remains 100% true.
