Trump not participating in Thursday's debate?

Trump has officially jumped the shark. Cruz has shrewdly challenged Trump to a 1:1

Trumps entire shtick is that he is afraid of no one. Well if he doesn't face Ted he gets exposed

Cruz would eviscerate him one on one and reduce him to whining about Cruz being born in Canada

I'm ambivalent about Trump as POTUS, but gawd, I love the way he manipulates the media lol. How can you not? Behind the schtick he knows what he's doing. He's not going to debate because he doesn't have to, he can sit at home and watch the other candidates talk about Donald Trump! Don't be surprised if he 'wins the debate' in absentia.

The thing with Meghan Kelly is a farce, it's a pretext to sit it out. Trump always has an agenda. He's a phenomenal politician.
 
my supporters are loyal.......I could step into the middle of the street and shoot down a debate and I wouldn't lose a vote........

now we shall see.......
 
I think, on balance Cruz wins Iowa, the effect of that on the rest of the race will be interesting.

I am fairly sure Cruz will not be the nominee. If losing Iowa does topple Trump, it will be a free for all to see who takes his place.

Im hoping Kasich.

Given the spectrum of presidential hopefuls, Republican and Democrat, I'm aghast that anyone votes at all. If this is the best they can do, it is time to walk away and draft a constitution for a second Republic.

This is what Mark Levin has been calling for. We need an Article V convention of the states to amend the constitution. Bring back balance, get rid of lobbying influence and force congress to balance the budget.

Go for it, but I believe we are a long way from attaining the consensus required to do that. Things would have to get pretty bad before such a movement would take hold, the framers designed it that way.

She waits til she's on the biggest stage to screw up ? Bad idea. Reagan skipped his last debate. He's won them all and has nothing to prove. He's not there so nobody is watching other than followes of marginal guys.
It's a nice payback to Miz Kelly and Fox for their actions.

Will this "debate" decide that ? Unlikely.
He stands to gain nothing and neuter the also rans who will surely show themselves as catty.
That it demonstrates media will not frame the political agenda is the icing on the cake.

With no Trump there is no big stage.

This is a last ditch opportunity for someone to show themselves as above petty politics. It will be mildly interesting to see if anyone takes the high road.
Don't see it making a difference but you never know. It's the only chance for a marginal guy (or gal) to stand out. Unless they all do in which case you have to be prepared to pivot fast.
