If you recall my personal proposal to fix h1b visas would be to make it so that it would be statutory for h1b holders to be paid 50% more than their counterparts.

The order says that all h1b slots will go to the highest paid workers first.

Makes sense right? After all it is a program to attract top talent. Need to pay more for top talent.

After all the h1b is designed to get people who have skills so unique or finely honed you cannot find one comparatively skilled in all of America.

actually I agree with that. Particularly in the tech industry where they have claimed for years now that there are not enough qualified tech people and they need immigration to advance innovation and entrepreneurship and that they are not trying to blow up the domestic labor market.
