While it is true that polls right now show Trump losing to the top four Democratic candidates, those will certainly change in the next 12 months. What is likely to not change is the recent polling where most Americans agree that they aren’t better off than they were four years ago, and THAT is something that should terrify the President.

For lefties, high unemployment, greater use of social welfare, and more people thinking the taxpayers owe them something is better off. It creates more dependency and that's what they want.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans say they are not better off financially than they were when Donald Trump was elected, casting doubt on whether economic expansion and a record bull market will boost the president’s re-election campaign in 2020.

According to a poll of likely voters conducted by the Financial Times and the Peter G Peterson Foundation, 31 per cent of Americans say they are now worse off financially than they were at the start of Mr Trump’s presidency. Another 33 per cent say there has been no change in their financial position since Mr Trump’s inauguration in January 2017, while 35 per cent say they are better off.

Farron makes a good point. And he's good at making it. But Trump fans will not listen to him. They routinely block out anything like that. They simply don't want to know.

If they allow themselves to learn things like that their view would change. They don't want to change. They like being insensitive bullies. They think having one in the White House legitimizes that.
