Trump is the president of his shrinking base

304 votes put Trump in office.

More people voted for Hillary. Which means that Hillary was more popular than Trump among American citizens.

The electoral college is what it is -- a system designed to give over-representation to former slave states. However, it required the perfect storm even for Trump to win under those conditions. Which is why Trump has been playing to his sliver of the electorate, and why my original post exists. Trump is the president of a minority of Americans. He plays to 'his people', but that number continues to dwindle and will keep dwindling no matter how many symbolic gestures he throws their way.

In the end, his policies stink, he can't get anything done, and the Republicans will pay a heavy price for an entire generation.

Where do you get this bullshit from? Did HuffPo tell you the EC is a relic of slavery?

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about a science book,
Don't know much about the french I took
But I know I love the DNC,
And I know that if you love them, too,
What a wonderful world this would be

bad new for you......New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine were not former slave states........they wanted the EC to protect them from the big states, like Virginia, which was, and New York......

Watch this video, this guy speaks the truth.

Sent from my iPhone 25 GT Turbo

Hard to tell what he was saying, do you have an American translation......?? lol Seems like others did not agree, & were grumbling politely in the background..

Bitch McConnell is senate majority leader. Probably should weep about that.

Yeah, it's rough having an actual conservative (McConnell, Paul Ryan, etc.) who wants to pass traditional Republican legislation -- getting a "Republican" president elected -- only to have the whole thing blow up in your face because the POTUS is an incompetent buffoon with the mentally of an authoritarian man-baby and the body of a small-fingered Oompa Loompa. I would be embarrassed as a Republican, hitching my wagon to that falling star. I guess I'll have to be embarrassed for you until you acquire the emotion of shame.

I would be ecstatic if I was a Democrat, but few seem to be.

What exactly do you think is conservative about McConnell?

More BS talk....from a party that has lost all its political power in both the DC and Local arenas. They look funny as hell walking around with all their teeth pulled. It even sounds funny when they attempt to BILLY BOB a verbal attack and its comes out hair lipped and humpbacked. They "wish" Trump had no middle class American base...that the socialists have screwed and ignored for over 30 years. But the reality: Someone elected him and it sure as hell was not the Russians. LMAO :)

What the hell do you think is conservative about Trump? Name one attribute that he had prior to running for POTUS that was conservative or even Republican.

I don't think Trump is conservative. In fact I'm on record in this forum saying that I voted for Trump because I think he's an old-school Liberal Democrat. Anymore left/right bullshit you'd like to throw at me?

Except that 80% of a minority of voters is... well, you do the math. Even 90% of a minority is a losing number. Your numbers confirm that Trump is playing to his base, and not the American people in general. While he is still popular among Repubicans, the number of Republicans who support him is on the decline, not an increase.
