Trump is bribing poor minorities to attend his military parade

You are clueless about everything the left does. The police start the violence. They opened in LA today with flash grenades, horses stomping protesters and beating them. It is too bad the police follow orders and do things like that.
Hater is a bit "slow". He claims to be a Vietnam Army vet, but I suspect he's the Nathan Phillips in a family of military vets. It might explain his cognitive issues and anger.

Donald Trump has spent his political career insisting — without a shred of evidence — that his opponents are paying people to attend rallies, march in protests and vote

Which, of course, is rich coming from the guy who paid actors to attend the announcement of his presidential campaign in 2015, and whose billionaire fundraiser, Elon Musk, was sued for allegedly violating election laws by paying voters during the recent presidential campaign.

So, it makes sense that a jokester who would want to spoof the president would use the same gimmick.

Trump, allegedly fearful that attendance will be weak at his birthday-party military parade on Saturday in Washington, D.C., is offering to pay “seat fillers,” according to a Craigslist ad — which people are pretty sure isn’t legit.

Evidence that it’s likely a goof:

— The photo on the ad is a May Day Parade in red Square;

— The ad promises to pay individuals $1,000 in crypto, which could be a swipe at Trump’s meme coin scheme;

— The freelancers are encouraged to wear gold accessories, which undoubtedly is a finger-poke at Trump’s taste for golden gaudiness;

— And people of color and ethnic groups are assured of prime visibility, which is a jab at Trump’s penchant for placing Black and brown supporters in seats directly in the line of cameras during his rallies.

Here’s how the ad reads:

“T-Mellon Events is looking for seat fillers and extras to provide their time for space maximization and attendance perception for an event taking place in Washington DC on June 14th. Extras and Seat fillers will check in on the morning of June 14th at 9:00 a.m.Extras are required to wear Red, White and Blue clothing and will be provided a RED hat to wear. GOLD accessories are acceptable as well. The team will advise the extras where to stand or sit according to the line of sight from a VIP viewing platform area.Extras and Seat fillers will be paid a flat daily fee and will be provided a lunch of fast food and soda.We encourage people of color and ethnic groups to sign up for maximum perception control and these individuals will be prominently displayed on the televised broadcast and local viewing screens to be seen by the VIP platform.”

A number of Reddit users wrote that they were going to apply and, if the ad is legit, not show up.

The military parade commemorating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary and coinciding with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday will be a new spectacle for many Americans.

This will not be the first U.S. military parade. However, it is unusual outside of wartime, and Trump’s approach stands out compared to his predecessors.

The Army had long planned a celebration for its semi-quincentennial on June 14. Trump has wanted to preside over a grand military parade since his first presidency from 2017 to 2021. When he took office a second time, he found the ideal convergence and ratcheted the Pentagon’s plans into a full-scale military parade on his birthday.

The president, who is expected to speak in Washington as part of the affair, pitches the occasion as a way to celebrate U.S. power and service members’ sacrifice. But there are bipartisan concerns about the cost as well as concerns about whether Trump is blurring traditional understandings of what it means to be a civilian commander in chief.

Didn’t Work, very few showed up!

I was told this morning that nobody was going to the "No Kings" protests. I see that was very wrong.
NYC's was huge. And just like every protest I have been to, no liberal was paid to be there. We have different priorities and different goals, but one thing that unites us all is that we can't stand Trump and the mockery he makes of the presidency and our country. It's uplifting to see so many strangers peacefully united in opposing evil.

"But no matter what issue was on the top of their list, all demonstrators agreed on one thing. They don't like President Trump."

Why do you call yourself "Tiger Lily" since you're apparently not a Princeton grad?
If you like Asian languages, you could write in in Japanese (タイガーリリー) as well!
I think it's misspelled, but I don't know very much Chinese. That looks like "ghost lily" instead of "tiger lily" to me, but the internet translator seems inconclusive.

Didn’t Work, very few showed up!

Meanwhile, across the nation, hundreds of thousands joined the No Kings protests. We had hundreds just here in our small city. With NMU being out for the summer, I didn't expect as many, maybe just a few dozen at best. And we were only one of the protests in upper Michigan, an area the size (and population) of the state of Vermont, and (exc. for Marquette) mostly "red."

There was no violence, just peaceful citizens. You wouldn't believe all the waving, honking, and thumbs up from passing cars! Did my heart good to know that we aren't alone. Americans stood up to the would-be despot and we showed him that we aren't as invisible as Faux News would make him think.

This was really astonishing: One of my friends went to the protest where she lives, in a very solid red rural county outside of St. Louis. She estimated their group to be at least a thousand people! Like me, she had figured maybe a few dozen. Isn't that heartening? Missouri's governor apparently tried to quell participation by staging the National Guard in their armored vehicles across the street. It did just the opposite.

The same here, the protest surpassed my expectations. It was wonderful, people were passing out water, donuts, muffins, flags and Fuck Trump stickers. It was a big party! Lots of clever signs. It was good for my soul!

Accomplished NOthing, the NO King gatherings...
It was, and still is, lovely and entertaining to know that the oldsters found another way to bond (and apparently party...lol), in lieu of coffee at McDonalds, and internet forums...;)

That's awesome. And to think that this was all organized in probably less than a month. I just heard about it a couple of weeks ago, and I pay more attention to political stuff than I imagine most ppl, esp. younger ones, do.

It has been a great day for the people. I expected a few dozen at ours at best, with the time of day and NMU being out. We had HUNDREDS. It was peaceful, it was meeting fellow patriots, it was awesome. It was everything that a true celebration of our freedom is all about.

:usflag:
Same in NYC. I've heard estimates there were about 50,000 people there, but it's really impossible for me to tell when I'm in it. There were no problems or insurrections. No police officers were assaulted. There were lots of smiles and fist bumps and hugs. We all shared our strengths with each other to keep resisting and keep going until this nightmare ends. A far cry from the MAGAts who spit up hatred every time they open their mouths, wave Confederate flags, and vandalize the US Capitol.

<pity reply>

Ah, so now that you've discovered that the protests were, indeed, both massive and peaceful, you've changed your narrative. First it was "no one but some old ppl will show up." Now it's "the protests changed nothing." Nostradumbass, you probably need to take your crystal ball in for a refurb.

Yesterday the whole w orld was watching and cheering for America. Not because of #TACO's stupid LOOK AT ME, I"M LIKE PUTIN! parade. But at the spectacle of huge protests by everyday citizens who do not, unlikek you, want fascism, violence, and hate. Too bad you didn't go to yours. You would have enjoyed the camaraderie and patriotism while exercising your 1st amendment rights.

You know who else was watching? Your #TaangerineTyrant, and all of our elected reps and senators.

There were not only protest here, but in other countries. The world hates Felonious.

You just can't seem to grasp the fact that its the leftists including you who daily show their extreme
hatred of Trump and we MAGA patriots. You on the Left have shown no patriotic or pro American
ideals/emotions whatsoever. NONE!!!!!!!
Except that we support the Constitution and every single amendment that is a part of it. We support the ideals of the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War. We believe in freedom, equality, and dignity. You shitheads worship a singular man (how shortsighted and blasphemous is that?) who can accurately be described as the worst, most evil character in American politics. You have no space to judge anyone else. You are a thoughtless, hateful mess who roller skates around the anonymous internet trying to insult liberals. You suck.

This is why you lost. Deal with it...

I love how all the JPP MAGAts have are spitballs from the back of the room. Never anything substantial or requiring more thought than an angry drunk.
