Detroit was great till the 1970s it was 70% ...white now its 10% white and the worst city in America

There is not one city in America that is 60% plus black that is not a shithole look at Jackson Miss

While all the top ten safest cities in America are 60% plus white

Rich educated blacks want to live in white areas for a reason

Obama did not pick South Chicago or Detroit to retire in the place he picked is 3% black

There are no rich black NFL NBA players living in any city that is 50% plus black

Years ago I was reading that the collapse of Detroit started much earlier than that....late 50's early 60's.....as the city leadership became corrupt and incompetent.

It started with the white guys.

It started with the decline of whites ....whites moving out and blacks moving in


1950 it was 83% white and a great place

1960 70% white still a good place

1970 55% white and going down hill

1980 34% white going down deeper

1990 21% white a shithole

2000 12% 3rd world like

2010 10% 3rd world like

2020 3rd world like

Most of that time city run by black mayors

The 1990s saw a significant shift in Jackson's racial demographics and all down hill from there

1990 its was 44% white

Comparing this with a list of cities with the highest black populations (by percentage): Detroit, Memphis, Birmingham and Baltimore Blacks forming more than 60% of the population (it’s 80% in Detroit).

All of America has been in decline since slightly after WW2.....the start of which was no later than 1954...prob more like 1947 (the disastrous creation of the CIA).......it took time for things to get bad enough for Eisenhowers farewell speech.

Democrats in the state were quick to criticize Trump for his comments. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan lauded the city’s recent drop in crime and growing population.

That's like saying that the water flooding into the Titanic has slowed because the ship is almost completely full...

Yes, I actually do know quite a bit about that stuff. Detroit hasn't had a Republican government in over 60 years. Of that just over 40 were Black mayors and major portions or majority Black city councils. Detroit's decline, like it or not, started in the 70's concurrent with the election of a Black government to run the city.

I won't suggest that alone was the cause, it certainly wasn't, but it is likely to have not helped in the least. Call it racist if you want, but it is historically accurate and that doesn't make it racist, it makes it factual. Just because you don't like those facts doesn't change them.
