The 2020 presidential election was stolen...and the two Senate seats in Georgia.

Hello cawacko,
I see no dishonesty in the argument made. The OP is spot on.
Get back to me when Abrahams and Gore plan a coup.
Stuff like this makes me shake my head. For starters, yes Trump is a sore loser. He claimed it was fraud when Cruz beat him in Iowa in the 2016 primaries, let alone 2020. He will never admit defeat.
But you had people claiming Bush stole the elections in 2000 and 2004. You had people claiming Trump stole the 2016 election and won’t acknowledge his victory, including Hillary. You have Stacey Abrams who still hasn’t acknowledged she lost in 2018.
No question Trump is at the top of the list but if you’re trying to make an actual principled argument at least be honest about it.
Of course, because it appeals to you. To spawn an era would mean a number of people follow with the same behavior. The examples above all happened prior. Trump took sore loser to the next level but he didn’t spawn an era

The issue is all about the level it was pushed to by Trump and the level to which his insane supporters willingly allowed themselves to be pushed to, mostly because they thought an atmosphere existed in which they could get away with it.
Claiming you didn't lose an election and doing it in an intelligent, thoughtful way and using credible evidence to support your position is a far cry from endlessly braying like a jackass about it at rallies after having convinced a mob to storm the capitol in an attempted coup.

The subject line is "Trump spawned a new era of sore losers who won't accept defeat" yet the article gave no examples of this happening post the 2020 election. Nor was 2020 the first time we've had sore losers.
Most agree Trump took losing to the next level but that's not really the topic, at least according to the subject line.
OwlGore took care of that 22 years ago.

I suppose if you engage in semantics you can pick apart just about anything anyone says.
I think the point is that after his loss, the behavior Trump has engaged in has encouraged his followers to continue the sore loserism and possibly take it to the next level, whatever that may be.
Again, it will take a couple of election cycles to see if it's true or not.
Trump sets a bad example for the youth of our country too, by being a whiney ass sore and cheat too?!! In the real world, you win some and you lose some?!! Are we in the era of not accepting defeat now?
Again, though, whatever happened to accepting defeat graciously? Are we as a society at a point where every person who loses from now on will question the legitimacy of the results, will cry “foul,”will claim that the election was rigged?
Of course, some of you are asking “How can you ask such a question in a country still rent in two by a former president who won’t accept that he lost?”

Former President Trump is by no means the first politician to reject his or her defeat, but he has elevated not taking “no” to low art.

Why, when I lost my race for Rockingham City Council, no one heard me braying about a rigged election or questioning the integrity of election officials.

Of course, it would have been hard to contest an election in which you received 14 votes.

True grace is knowing how to accept defeat graciously even when you have a legitimate beef.

Al Gore, despite reasonable doubt about election integrity in Florida in 2000, realized that his winning the presidency was less important than America demonstrating to the rest of the world how we move on, even after a contentious election.

Even Richard Nixon, who lost by a rat’s toenail length to JFK in 1960, publicly appeared to graciously accept his painful defeat. Later accounts from people who worked with him say that behind the scenes, though, Nixon was encouraging efforts to question or overturn the results.

But at least he didn’t try to destroy the country, end democracy or send his followers to storm the Capitol.

Lil Nas, Levar, Trump, et al, when facing a result they don’t like, should remember the words of Mick Jagger, who said “You can’t always get what you want.”

Or of whoever said “If at first you don’t succeed — find out if the loser gets anything.”
