Trump has made America less safe

Trump has made America less safe

The consensus of the experts is that Trump as Commander in Chief Elect compromises the security of the United States of America by refusing to participate in the security briefings made available to him.

This is no casual criticism.

It has been acknowledged from the executive branch.

It has been acknowledged from the highest levels of our intelligence gathering infrastructure.

But perhaps more alarming still:
Trump's insistence that he knows more than the experts.

- Trump has said so about eliminating ISIL, that Trump knows more about it than the U.S. military commanders

- Trump has said it about the PDB, that he doesn't need it.

How can he know that if he doesn't get it?

In any case, our experts say he's wrong.
So we're supposed to take the pompous word of a rank amateur over the consensus of the world's leading experts?

Trump is a buffoon.

Political appointees marginalized themselves trying to cobble together a story to save face for their boss.
How on earth is a sitting president so scared as to force this ? Is he this scared of Soros or is it the muslims ? Or maybe PRC ?

What a stupid, braindead comment. Everyone is horrified by the incident w/ that kid in Chicago.

What Trump is doing to our intel community right now will have ramifications for many years to come. And it's all for ego.

Wake up, and don't be such a hack.

he's not doing anything, and evidently they aren't doing much either as no evidence has been presented to Congress on anything the democrats have been whining about for months now.

Applause. What else can you expect from illegitimate plutocrat planted by Russians? He will undermine the US intentionally. Putin has his hand selected KGB agent in the White House, thanks to the utter stupidity of Republicans.

...meanwhile, Liberals are torturing a disabled person for hours and laughing about it.

I don't believe for a second that Liberals are worried about the undermining of our intelligence community. I think they're too busy purposely conflating Democrat political operatives and their months-old talking points with actual "intelligence operatives" whose findings aren't generally voiced directly to the media and that aren't being undermined by Trump or anyone else for that matter.

That was a horrible, horrible incident and those four guys should have the book thrown at them. But what, exactly, does it have to do with trump and the intelligence community?

Isn't this the same intelligence community that told us about the WMDs in Iraq?

No.

"Thirteen years ago, the intelligence community concluded in a 93-page classified document used to justify the invasion of Iraq that it lacked "specific information" on "many key aspects" of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs.

But that's not what top Bush administration officials said during their campaign to sell the war to the American public. Those officials, citing the same classified document, asserted with no uncertainty that Iraq was actively pursuing nuclear weapons, concealing a vast chemical and biological weapons arsenal, and posing an immediate and grave threat to US national security."

He's a fan of mine from the old C&E forum on Netscape. He tracked me down :). This guy believes koalas swam from Australia to the ME to board Noah's ark, that dinosaur were shrunk to get them on the ark and that animals were put into suspended animation to keep them from eating, pooping and killing each other. :)

Surely he was being facetious? :D

People should question intel. The problem back then was that Bush cherrypicked it, and fixed it around the policy.

But no one mocked our intel gathering sources; no one lied about their intent, or tried to undermine their credibility. No one took sides w/ a foreign adversary & a fugitive over them.
How did he mock them?
